Do you mean 121k on the clock?

Seems like an average price. I assume it's a saloon? Tourings have a premium over the saloon. Does it have any optional extras?

The sat nav is old and crap so for me it's not a selling point. It sounds like it's worth a look. Ask the buyer to MOT it for you.

You can take a car for an MOT any time that you like

If you take it in less than 28 days before the old expiry date, the new MOT will be valid for 12 months from the expiry date, rather than from when you take it in. Maybe that's what they meant?

But if you don't mind having a different expiry day, you can take it in whenever you like.

thanks make sense would ask him to get mot done before i buy

thanks the seller is saying is he wont reduce the price from 3k

i check on whatacar valuation and it mentioned trade price as 2700 and private price as 2,400

also he says he has the sat nav and rear view camera fitted.

he says he wont sort the alarm issue as he does not have time

Please suggest if i should take the risk

Sounds to me as though you believe it's worth less than he's asking, plus it has an issue which he's not wiling to address.

Two option;

1. Offer him what you think it's worth, bearing in mind your valuation and what it would cost to fix the alarm, and walk away if he won't drop the price
2. Find another one
