Sorry if this is going over old ground. I've read several posts on the benefits of by-passing Fuse 22 to open the exhaust values on Astons. Does the "Sport" button on a DB9 do the same thing - in other words, why by-pass Fuse 22 if you've got the "Sport" button?

No, it just reduces the revs at which the valves open. From 4k down to 3k IIRC. If you bypass the valves they are open all the time.

It moves the point at which it changes gear too - up later, down sooner. It also seems to make the gear changes quicker/snappier when using the paddles. It was always the 2nd button I pressed when getting in mine (the first being start) driving

If it does some of the same things as the vantage it might also change the throttle pedal map (bit of a gimmick) and raises the rev limit a bit.

Sport button:
Can rev to the 8k limit in paddle mode and bounce off that
Sharpens throttle response. Less pedal more revs occur
Exhaust valves open earlier - at 3k or 3.5k

Fuse 15 or 22 removal dependent upon year...
Exhaust valves open all the time
That's it. But it's nice to drive more sedately and get the noise.

Knock off the traction control as well and see what happens lol. Great fun in the little Vantages but in the DB9 the extra 12 inches tells you it's there if there is even the slightest bit of moisture on the surface smile

But not that different.

From AM web site (so current model)

"Push the Sport button - made of real glass - and the New DB9’s powertrain response is transformed. The suspension stiffens, the steering is more direct, the throttle sharpens, the gear shift points are quicker and the control valves open to generate a louder exhaust note."

I have a 2010 v12v. Fuse 22 is removed but I can't tell if it makes any difference. Is it worth removing fuse 15 on this MY car or will it only be fuse 22?

It's not always fuse 22 so worth a check.

My Virage (a 2012 MY Aston) - which admittedly is absolutely nothing like a DB9 in any way and completely new from the ground up - is Fuse 15.

biggrin

So best to check.

When I remove it, the difference is subtle, suitable for the more discerning gentleman.

It will be Fuse 15 on a later car, but yes - same thing
