It's time to reboot my 2000MY 996 C4 coupe with 18" alloys - as in replace its tyres rather than restart its computers!

Any suggestions as to the best tyres to go for and from where? I live in Chiswick, West London - have used Iverson Tyres on Power Road with no complaints previously.

I presume different tyres have different characteristics with respect to grip, ride, noise, wear rate, price etc... but which are good for what...?

Any opinions/advice greatly appreciated.

TIA!

I have found P zero's to be cheapest, and last a decent amount, but not sure if they are the best.

Michelin Pilot sports are a very good performance tyre, but not sure of wear rate.

I,m currently running Continental ContiSport 2 on my GT3. Way better than the Pirelli 's originally fitted. Also, around £800 for a full set!!
Worth a look IMHO

If you need a competitive quote, ring Steve or Kevin at Wraysbury Tyres, Chertsey, 01932 570420, a quick blast down the M3 for you!!

I've used them for years, always careful with alloys and competitive on prices.

Mention my name for instant inflation ;-) -pun totally intended!!

They also do nitrogen.

I am in west London too and best prices I have found was at Sheen Tyres on the Upper Richmond Road. They claim to supply AFN in Chiswick. Fitting bay is full of monkeys though so balance elsewhere ?

can't help with the place, but some experience with conti's and pilot sports....contisport 2s are good all rounders , quiet, wear well...took some advice from don palmer and switched to michelin pilot sports..similar price , noisier, lasted 14 months with plenty left, and performance in wet and dry good.... so thats allright then

I have used Michelin Sport and Pirelli P Zero but prefer the Michelins as the P Zero is very soft and hence wears relatively quickly. When I changed recently it was quite difficult to locate a pair of rear Michelins and eventually I had it done at a PCGB track day in Castle Combe which was very convenient and ok price.
