Glickenhaus SCG003 revealed

Just in case Geneva was short of supercars!

Here it is! It was 2006 when the Glickenhaus P4/5 was shown to the world and 2013 when a successor was confirmed. Last year we saw a carbon chassis and were given a name. Now the Glickenhaus SCG 003 is a reality in both road (Stradale) and race (Competizione) forms.

This at the Nurburgring? Oh yes!

Even amongst the incredible array of supercars at Geneva this year, you suspect the SCG 003 will be swamped with showgoers. It's perhaps not conventionally beautiful but there's no doubting the presence. The motorsport influence is clear too, with spoilers, intakes and slats covering every surface. The wraparound screen for the driver could have come straight from an LMP1 car.

At present only the racing SCG 003 has tech details. It will be powered by a heavily revised version of Honda's 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 with 530hp and 516lb ft. The road car will also use a twin-turbo V6 of some description. Perhaps the Ecoboost V6 used in the Ford GT?

Glickenhaus says the racer weighs 1,350kg with mass distributed 49:51 front:rear. The road car was always intended to be Dino sized so it will be interesting to see how the SCG 003 compares once on the stand; the press pics make it look more of a conventional supercar size.

Previous Glickenhaus cars have always been unique but that situation appears to have changed with both road and race versions confirmed. More to follow from Switzerland!

It definitely looks better in silver than it ever did in camouflage.

Looks fabulous. Wouldn't want to get hit by one though as it would be like going through a wood-chipper with all those sharp surfaces. I'm amazed it's got through US type approval.

Gorgeous.

It's like a Nissan GT-R and an XJ220 had a baby.

My exact first thought. I'd never heard of this, so when I saw the picture I immediately assumed it was some sort of Hennesy type company, but for Enzo's...

Is he planning on selling these or just on off's for himslef. I recall another PH'er years ago at the GFOS looking over the P4/5 making comment and a random american coming over to chat to him. Turend out it was Glickenhaus himself and he was by all acounts a very nice chap.

Not bad looking car actually... and a bit of credability that it might see reality and be half decent.

I did wonder if it was cloned off an enzo chassis with some of the shapes and past form of using ferrari bits.

I'd say, Enzo looks better. Not a massive fan of that car either.

I can see Enzo, MC12 and GT-R in there, not an original or cohesive design IMHO.

So much want. Especially in that gunmetal colour - it looks like it's as close as an LMP for the roads as you can get..

Weird. It looks like a powerboat that someone has stuck 4 wheel pods and some lights on.

I see a lot of cues from Adrian Newey's "Red Bull X2010" design, perhaps crossed with a Caparo T1 a bit too, and then made into a more road-car like two-seat design. Whichever way, I like it!

Wow...

I have been following development of the car on facebook, and was starting to think it was only going to be a race car because of some of the developments and components on it.

That road version is simply stunning.
