Hey Guys,

Here are some shots of my new EDOX Chronorally WRC Automatic that arrived from the US today.

It was one of the usual late night wine fuel purchases, but i had looked at these when they first came out, due to my life long obsession with all things World Rally Championship, so when this one came up at a very good price I jumped at it.

First impressions are that its very big, and heavy, even heavier than my JLC Master Compressor and thats a big bulky watch.

But it does look very nice on the wrist, and you soon get used to it too.

The red Chrono button for the stopwatch might not be to everyones taste, but it seems in keeping with the theme of the watch.

The rally inspired wheel design on the back is pretty nice too.

Overall it seems like a very high quality item indeed!!

Edox make some nice watches, and quite often on the 44-46 mm size, which might put many off.
Lack of smaller versions and/or UK distribution is possibly why you'll very rarely see them mentioned, but they are a quality brand irrespective.
So, congrats on your bravery.

Thanks for that feedback, they do seem to be well regarded as a manufacturer, but as you say, you don't see many in the UK.

I am pretty sure that mine is a 42MM size, and that seems just about right, especially when you consider how deep the actual case of the watch is too.

The carbon face is a nice touch too, and I really like the blue colour, but I have several other watches with a blue face, like my Breitling Navitimer, so I am a sucker for other similar looks!

Not sure it's that brave of me, it seemed like such a bargain,,as you can see the retail tag is still on it at $4350.00.

I paid less than $1000 U.S. which included the shipping and paying the UPS man the import duty, so I was not a big risk at all on the spending stakes!

I will be interested to see what my watch officionado buddies make of it, I wonder if they will even recognise the brand!

Edox produce some really nice pieces and at that price point, you can't really go wrong! Congrats on the purchase! smile I'm pretty sure that model is 45mm in diameter, but that makes sense, considering it's depth - It's a tall watch! The previous Chronorally WRC was a really interesting piece too ...

Thanks for the feedback, and yes I did look at that watch when it was first released, but the dials were a bit too messy for me, and I prefer true automatic chronograph movements, at $3000 US list, that always seemed overpriced for a Quartz movement to me.

My watch is 42MM case size though, here's the current version, albeit wit the rubber strap, I am much happier with the stainless steel version on my new watch though!
