Another thread is running on same subject tbh.
Saw the one on floor nails. Is that the one you mean? My question is specifically for fasteners that need to be aesthetically pleasing. I did see your pic on that thread though. Looks very good. How did you avoid hammer marks? Just use a punch and be careful or is there more to it?B17NNS said:
I like the look of that a lot. What do you when you get to the last one or two boards?Gad-Westy said:

Straight onto joists.
Shame your not nearer I have a pneaumatic secret nailer, but I am sure you can hire one at HSS as someone else has said. There are also screws that you can buy that will screw through the tongues of timber like a secret nail, never used them myself but maybe another option.
Just make sure you let the timber acclimatise properly for at least a couple of weeks, is there anyway you can check the moisture in the timber??

Cheers. How easy is it to use the secret nailer as you start to get close to the walls. The one linked above looks like it must get tricky as you start to get to the last one or two boards. There are also screws that you can buy that will screw through the tongues of timber like a secret nail, never used them myself but maybe another option.

I've used 'tongue-tite' screws - they seemed OK. they have a star bit (T10 iirc) fixing and the heads are small so for the last row I just went through the top of the wood - touch of suitable filler on the heads to cover it.
