Hello there,

Just bought a 205 GTI 1.6 and wondered if any members run them on a classic car policy?

Have a look over on the 205gtidrivers forum as there are a few specialists on there that offer discounted specific / classic policies for the GTI.

Greenlight and Sky are 2 of them. Other owners on there have used Footman James, Heritage & Need 2 Insure amongst others. Like with most things speak to as many as possible tbh smile

One thing worth checking. I insured my 91 Mitsubishi gto through an Adrian Flux classic policy, but one thing I didnt realise was they dont take into account any ncd. When I took the policy out I had 9 years, but when I went to renew with someone else they returned it to zero, was not impressed.

If it was less than two years between the end of your old policy and renewing with someone else, your 9 years would still be valid.

That is what I did, however if the policy had remained with them for a few years I would have left them with no ncd.

Mine is insured with Footman James on a classics policy, was very reasonably priced and I live in London where insurance is expensive. They can do you a quote online.

Also insured with Footman James for my 205 GTi. Cover was excellent and very reasonably priced too.

HIC
Green light

I pay £259 for a modified example.
Agreed value at 5k.
3000 miles per year, I normally do about 800!
