Next week I will get my MX-5 NC Niseko and I was wondering if there are more people that have a soft-top and park it outside all the time. If so, how does the cloth top hold up?

Keep it clean and waterproofed and you shouldn't have any major problems.

Alright, even in the winter with a little snow?

I can't comment personally on being outside in the snow, as I have a hard top for winter use, but plenty of people don't have a problem.

Vinyl soft tops suffer in winter because the material gets stiff. Cloth & mohair don't suffer from that and are also thicker so insulate much better from the cold and wind noise. Personally I've never bothered with a HT despite having vinyl tops for the last 16 years but my cars live in a garage over night. Still, they have been covered with snow & ice quite a few times when out and about, visiting, touring etc. and I've still never wished for a HT.

My NC lives outside at all times and I've never once had a problem with it other than being wary of folding it up when covered in a thick frost. Having said that even the frost doesn't stop me as I quickly 'need' to put the roof down as long as it's isn't chucking it down.
