If I get a Cayman GT4 allocation tomorrow (US here, we start getting allocations March 3rd) I'm going to have to tell the dealers I'm backing out and need my deposits back so I can get an Evoque Cabriolet instead.

Typical PH comments! This car is not really designed for the uk market and will sell hardly any over here. Jag sell far more cars abroad and these markets have different tastes to here. This actually works somewhere like the USA and some of the emerging markets. If it means JLR all these and make a profit in order to develop new projects then I'm all for it

Because its been around for donkeys - i guess it was all about timing the release date.

Its not a bad idea and i'm sure it'll sell like hotcakes, but i wont be trading mine for one tbh.

It will sell bucket loads over here. Brits love convertibles and 4x4's.

It it the ultimate school Mum's look at me car - safe for the kids and somewhere they can be seen!

Or an object lesson in making money - after all that is what LR are in business for, no??

Remember PHs is the minority and is also usually wrong...the rest of the world couldn't care less what we think...

yes
Indeed, as an avid supporter of JLR I have no doubt that it will be a commercial success.
Doesn't stop the PH minority having a laugh at it though.

I'd have one of them in a heart beat and so would my missus, I do like the Nissan Rogue convertible they get across the pond as well.

Don't get the general dislike tbh, Evoques are popular (very popular to be brutally honest) and this is a natural progression ...

Exactly. I like it, looks fun. Not every car has to the last word in performance and "feel"!

I'd say it's totally designed for the UK. We are the biggest buyers of convertibles in Europe, and as we all know, it will appeal to a certain demographic in this country and will sell in big numbers.

Not my cup of tea though.
