Is Spa worth the trip?
Discussion
There's a track day on at Spa at the beginning of August which tied up with my holidays from work, I was thinking about taking the EP3 I just bought over for a trip through Europe anyway, maybe to Italy for a week or so. is it worth going to Spa?
It's €290 for 4x25 minute runs (you can pay for more I think), is it worth the trip/abuse/wear for a run around it a few weeks before the F1?
I've done Palmersport and I've done a track day in Ireland on a much smaller circuit - Spa or the Ring seems to be the next logical step.. Am I wrong?
It would probably cost me the same to visit some of the circuits in the UK...

Spa is worth it but not a the price you are thinking of paying. 300 Euros for 2 hours driving is a little steep.
I would suggest doing an open pit lane day with one of the established TD companies for around £300 and you will have a more relaxing day with a lot more time on track.

Circuit Days and Gold Track have some Spa dates but not in your time-frame. Book a track doesn't have any dates that would suit you either. RSR are very expensive but they are supposed to be very good too. (CD, GT and BaT all run very good days as well).
I would hold on and see if I could get some free time to do an open pit lane day as 2 hours driving will be gone in no time.

August is bad for Spa as the circuit is closed for most of the month so the only TD's running at the very beginning of the month do have a significant premium. The public driving experience is quite a way down experience wise from a standard OPL trackday.
Donington, Silverstone, Castle Combe and Brands Hatch are all available within your window if you fancy a larger/recognised track.

Is Spa worth it? In a word, YES !!!
It is simply the best circuit out there - no wonder it is the F1 driver's favourite track.
Enjoy.....
Most of F1 tracks are quite boring / sterile, so this is easily one the best.It is simply the best circuit out there - no wonder it is the F1 driver's favourite track.

I still prefer Cadwell or Donington to drive on.
But otherwise worth it for a normal price.
One major problem with Spa is----------it will spoil you for any UK circuit!
There is RSR (whom I contract to) they have August 5.Open pit lane, all day catering including a decent lunch in the Pit Brasserie.
€695.Considering the exchange rate makes this very good value. These trackdays with RSR allow overtaking both sides, yes it does work and works very well as the drivers are usually no strangers to courteous driving.
I have instructed on many of these days, as has doogleman on here.
You take as much track time you need, usually excellent free running events that take some beating.

A few of us are driving Spa with Lotus on Track on the 31st March and again in July, we like it so much we are going twice this year, plus a trip to the 'Ring too (It's only an hour away).
It is a great track and once you have driven it you appreciate the commitment F1 drivers make to take Eau Rouge at speed.
