How come all the penalties are so small, a bloke just got 3 points and £100 fine for over 100 in a 60, they all seem vey small penalties, even after a police chase, is it because it's up north? Or is it a made up program?

I'm guessing he was put down for a lot less than a 100MPH.

The sentencing is woeful, the chap in the police chase should have been banged up for his driving/antics.

I was more shocked at the over reaction and charge that the jag driver received, she was your typical traffic cop jobs worth.

Fair enough he was making progress and he stupidily overtook a cop car. it seems that most of the public seem to think it is illegal and anti social to overtake. But he was following the road markings he did not over take on a double white as she charged/accused him.

I know he was speeding 73 in a 60 but Christ sake come on, he's not taking the piss he is simply overtaking a few cars which does require you to go for short periods over the limit to get out of danger.

I did catch that bit with the Jag as I was channel hoping and did think he caught her on a bad day.

The slow mo replay shows he clipped the double White line by about a metre which suggests he knew it was there and tried to time his manouvre, he also used his indicator showing he had good awareness, but then he did fail to spot an undercover car with a uniformed officer in!

A ticket for one of the offences would've been more reasonable and a bit of a telling off.

+1 Sympathy for the Jag driver - maybe he should have overtaken at 59 and run up the front of an oncoming artic.

Jag driver situation was a bit harsh. You could see the policewoman trying to give the chap a lecture, but it wasn't very good at all. Interestingly, of all of the offences committed on the program, his was probably one of the least bothersome yet he seemed to get some of the harshest penalties. As has been mentioned above, other penalties seemed quite light.

The show itself is odd. It's full of inconsistencies. I live local to where it has been filmed for this series and over the last few weeks I've seen a few incidents that happened in Spalding, but were tagged as happening in Boston. Also, on the last episode (I think) there was a car facing the wrong way on a roundabout. I'm sure it was a Nissan Almera but the narrator said it was a Toyota?

I know it's not supposed to be a factual thing. smile

Without going into too much detail, I know the Jag driver or rather one of his relations rather well and it was pretty harsh IMO.

I've been in that Jag a few times with him and he is a very safe driver whenever I have been in it.

Didn't know he was on the show until I saw it though which was pretty funny and surprising, so will find out what happened afterwards and report back.

6 points for those overtakes was poor though I think, I drive that road everyday and will admit to having overtaken in the first two places several times. If you time the overtake just after the double white lines then it is a very good place to get passed a vehicle, the view down the road is very good and momentum is easy to gain for a quick pass.
On the hill afterwards though....bit of a dodgy one for more than one car especially.

Should've recognised the undercover car though, they all have the same prefix numberplates in Lincolnshire and there's only about 5 and they've all been on that show every week! laugh

I thought that the Jag guy took it on the chin quite well. The points for the 'double/solid white line' offence was a bit harsh as it was obvious to anybody that he had waited for the lines to end, and slightly misjudged, didn't seem reckless.

He was pushing along though but probably no worse to what most of us have done before.

I think the traffic officers need some re-training in the T-pac/boxing in move, as there effort was crap in that episode! They left a massive gap at the back enabling an easy escape.

I don't understand why they put this stuff on tv?

They come across as ego driven chavs in uniform.

The whole think just demonstrates how screwed up the criminal justice system is.

The only reason I watched it was because the current series was filmed in Lincolnshire where I live. smile

It's a series I wouldn't normally watch as the characters in it do seem full of themselves. The penalties dished out and some of the lectures given by the BIB are pathetic too.

Interestingly, I'm pretty sure that the BIB in glasses (who fell over when chasing some drug scrote) tried to tell me off at a set of traffic lights in Spalding a few years ago. I may be wrong and it may not have been him, but the policeman trying to tell me off looked just like him. Basically, he thought that I ran a red light even though he didn't see me and I never did. He tried to lecture me, but when I asked where he had observed me from he said from around the corner. Also, the phases on the lights in question were buggered for a while (amber on one side of the T junction from red and green on another) and when I pointed this out (and the fact that I had reported it) he skulked off and just said 'don't do it again'. Plonker.

I agree with that. The slo-mo footage I thought could have been almost judged either way.

Funny seeing the Lincolnshire rabble as Dan pulled a car over outside our house last week.

Also, watched an episode on catchup earlier that had the chap in the gold bmw getting pulled for drug related offences (also had the uninsured TT and a van with slick tyres). We know the BMW owner as he is works with a friend of mine and we spoke to him at a house party a few years ago. Funnily enough, he drove past our house earlier glued to his phone. Has obviously learned his lesson! He got busted down the road from us on that episode.
