As it happens , Tony - Scott, we ( Ryan and I ) are going down early Sunday now, to get to Snett. for early afternoon, aiming for the restart after lunch break as I remembered Hottrax are racing there this weekend and I want to catch up with a few faces , my old pals Andy Taylor and Paul Langridge , both racing in the Desmo Due series amongst some others in the paddock, seeing as we are in the area - we will be back and sorted for eats with you at digs as arranged .
Cheers,G.

some photos from Friday, Neil wasn't happy with the photographer. I cant blame him, 4 of me. And 14 of Neil and he looks like he's just passed his DAS test. Not one action shot of him. I've no idea why they take photos when your stuck behind someone that's slower.

You'll have to show him how to get his knee down Rab.

laugh he he he, after fixing my suspension it was like a light switch going on in regards to my riding. I can get it down every where now without trying. In fact if I spent less time dicking about id have better lines.

this was like brand new at the start of the day. I swapped it to the right leg at lunch realising id put them on the wrong leg. I'm on a mission to get all of my knee sliders looking like I know what the fk i'm doing. Its so childish I know laugh

I understand these are quite soft, see the saltire ones you see every scot wearing, I think you have the L plate ones, are these really tough and robust. These arent cheap to replace and if im doing one in every few track days it could get costly.

A guy had metal ones, fk me I shat it when I saw the sparks, I ducked thinking a body and bike was coming my way.

The English ones are tougher as you would expect Alex.

Now you can dig your knee into the ground its time to stop doing that. As soon as it touches down lift it up.

Use it only as a gauge or if you're Moto GP pace use it to lift yourself up when you loose the front. (crashing is easier)

Some pics from Cadwell so far. Rookie mistake is no generator, so no tyre warmers for me all day. Will be taking it easy for the first lap or so on 6 trackday old SCs. smile

Oh and my exhaust tested as 102dB :/

What a day for it. And remember on your first lap roll off over the mountain. My first lap I assumed it'd only wheelie if I was had on the gas. I nearly flipped it. After that I was rolling off slightly like a big girl

I can't get better than 1:51 now matter how much I try.
Simon (Aky) was doing 147's all day and the annoying git had not been there for 5 years. I couldn't catch him either.

McKean will be into 144 or better by the end of his first day, just watch.
Sorry to disappoint you John, but I only managed a 1.45 frown

I'm sorry.

I could have one brilliant photo though... wink

It's a bit chilly out the sun, but yep a great day. Though by far the most monotone safety briefing ever!

For the experienced track day-ers, these are my tyres this morning before any track time at Cadwell. I've done 4 days om them now, and the guy I bought it off said he'd done 2 days abroad on them (Almeria I think). I can't say I've noticed any drop in performance (Novice group all my days)

Yeah that's terrible, that would have only got you onto this years superstock grid. You must be so disappointed...
