Damn I was gonna book that and cadwell the day after...
It is/was a road bike only day, no warmers, must have mot etc etc, so unless you took your new bike you couldn't have used your Triumph.

If anyone has a place they want to sell I'll buy it, top group preferably, I snoozed and lost, was looking forward to it, can't believe February was the last time I did a TD.

Haha I worded that quite badly! I know he's not bad. I already knew he had it booked when I booked it a month or so ago, just wondered if anyone else had booked it in the meantime.

Does anyone know the laws on campervans and towing a bike trailer. I'm guessing there's a weight limit on a standard licence if you can do it at all without more triaing I have no idea.
My old man's just tretired and bought an old long wheelbase transit style campervan so trying to steal it for track days if I can.

If your campervan is less than 3.5 tons, you can tow an unbraked trailer of less than 750kg. The trailer must have a stamp on it with a Capacity figure of no more than 750kg and be unbraked.

Cheers guys, not really any clearer though as that thread was like an algebra test.
I'm certain a one bike trailer is a lot less than 750 kg I'm just not sure how much the van weighs. Doing a crude Google search of 3.5 ton camper vans I'd say a fair bit less but can't be sure.

It'll say on the V5. For a transit my guess is that it's less than 3500kg.

Remember though, it's not what the trailer weighs, or even what the trailer weighs with the bike on it, it's what the stamped weight of the trailer is. You cannot tow a trailer that has a stamped maximum weight of 1000kg, even if the trailer only weighs 200kg and you are towing it empty.

There are other rules about towing that means you are only allowed a maximum total train weight of 3500 and the car must weigh more than the trailer, so 2 ton car and 1:5 ton trailer. But using a van means you need the 3500+ 750 rule

...although it is a left-hand circuit wink

A short ex-airfield job, properly tarmaced though. Good for the smaller bike and I fancied a change from Cadwell (much as I love it).

Cheers,
Tom

Two days at Anglesey for me and hebegb along with a few other friends from around the country. I buggered up a rear wheel sensor with my mechanical muppetry, so spent most of Saturday riding without any techie gizmos. Unfortunately the bike set itself into Rain mode as a result, but we overcame by plugging my bike into a other S1000RR in our garage and conning it I tothinpking all was OK so we got it into Slick for a couple of sessions. Unfortunately the bike didn't like being conned and it was a bit of a stop / start day as result, until someone managed to find a spare sensor lead from elsewhere in the paddock and we were away.

Obligatory pic over the top of the circuit at Anglesey whilst having a little play with a friend and "foe" from last year's endurance races.
