Hi All,
Checking the service history of my S2 56 plate S and given that it's done just 18,000 miles.

I note that it's had a service at 861 miles in 2007 then another one at 10498 miles in 2013 a gap of some 6 years. I understand that the original owner rarely used the car during that time. The next and last service was in 2014 at 15,230 miles.

So the question is, now the car has done 18,000 miles should I get it serviced to keep it to the whole 9,000 mile service interval which given it's last service was only just over 3000 miles ago or should I wait and get it serviced in July on the anniversary of it's last service ?

This would make it, it's 3rd service which for a car that's 9 years old doesn't seem enough.

Interested to hear others opinions / experiences...

uggggh... Lotus owners, please get your cars serviced regularly!! :-)

Always get mine serviced annually, even if they've only done a few hundred miles since the last one.

It should really be done every year.

I occasionally push mine out to 18 months or so if I'm busy but never longer than that.

I should have said that I do between 2 and 4K a year.

ok great advice, but what that leaves me is a question... is this service a two year or 18k service or a 9th year service and what about any special services that would have been missed ? Thinking cambelt etc type of things ? Had regular service + sparks, air filter, oil, coolant and brakes done at 10k in 2013, then guessing just a regular service last year... so what should I be getting done this year in anyone's opinion ?

I'd put it into a specialist and ask their advice as to what needs doing.

I do yearly, but it seems a year excessive when I've only managed 600 miles in the year. frown

Every other year wouldn't put me off, but 6 years would worry me as you have to wonder how well it's been cared for. As above get it checked over.

Oh and if it is the Toyota S then it is a can chain, not a belt.
