Ouch! The kerbs in Union Sq multi storey give me the jitters too. The wheel guy at Newburgh is pretty good, used him a few years back. I'm on the verge (still) of refurb & paint on all 4 for the 8, was thinking of black on black but undecided still.
He did Alex's Supra wheels an made a good job of them, the beauty about him is he's localdunmac25 said:
Looks like you need to talk with the boy at Newburgh - quick before the salt on the road makes it worse
I spoke to Alex at the weekend there and he has sent the guys number over to me to get a quote. I also contacted a guy that I've used in the past called Kev Brown from Smart Techniques who is going to have a look also and he has always provided an excellent job with these wheels.Granby said:

Are they kumho 39's by the way, what are they like?
I use Kumho on both the Monaro and the Cavalier Turbo, in fact I did the entire Modball Rally plus a track day in Valencia on them and they have always delivered a great performance in my opinion. They aren't a high end maximum performance tyre but for the driving that I do including my enthusiastic road runs they have always been excellent. Are they kumho 39's by the way, what are they like?
That said I have recently spoken to the Fish and they have suggested an alternative for the Monaro and I'm going to give them a go instead and see if the performance is any better. The alternative is a Michelin Pilot Sport.

I understand exactly what you mean, that multistory is just horrible, let us not forget trying to exit NCP on Shiprow...just WOW to whoever invented that system.I am going to get these all refurbed as the current paint job is just shocking and can't take even a light impact let along this kerb job. The Wheel Specialist want £380 for all four in anthracite which is the colour they are at the moment and you can leave the car there. PPS coatings in Inverurie can powder coat them but they need just the wheels with no tyres and I have no spare wheels to put on the Ro so I can't really do that, plus the expensive of having tyres taken on and off and rebalanced.
Joy!

Had pilot sports on my old Monaro, you won't be disappointed

I had my VXR8 wheels done in smoked chrome at the Cumbernauld branch last year and was extremely happy. Some pics and details towards the end of this thread
