I have bought a new race car and need to fit some form of lap timing device.

My current car has a stack dash so it is all dealt with through that. I want somthing that is easy to read as I cross the line. I don't need any special functions etc just a display.

What is there on the market? Don't want to change the display etc. somthing stand alone that is large enough to read is what I think I need....

Any help appreciated!

Something like a Rollcentre T100 (works off the circuit beacon which pretty much every circuit has), or you could get an AIM Solo which also does predictive lap timing etc. based on GPS.

+1 AIM Solo.

Predictive lap time is useful, know when to abort or lap or press on.

I've been pondering an AIM Solo - sounds like it's worth taking the plunge?

Ok so it sounds like this aim solo is the one to go for. How large is the display? Where do you guys mount yours so you see it etc.

Thanks

AIM Solo here too. screen is about 3x2" and mine is dash mounted - comes with a strong magnetic bracket for the unit to quickly remove to keep safe, but the bracket itself has a couple of holes for bolt mounting.

Sounds like it's a big thumbs up for the AIM Solo - thanks for the recommendations!

How do the times recorded by the AIM Solo stack up against the timing sheets done by TSL off the transponder? Are they identical (or near as dammit)?

It looks like a good bit of kit for the money, but how accurate is it really? Before sinking £300 into one it would be useful to know.
