I've often found the Hertz website is missing half the cars on offer. Try phoning the rental location direct.

I think you'll have problems with anything special as you're crosing state lines.

It's worth asking on the flyer talk forums though. They have a really good section for rental cars.

One way car hire is a problem in certain states....very little call for what you want in the Eastern US. Most rental companies only rent the more run of the mill stuff for one way as it's a massive ball ache logistically. Different on West Coast where there is huge demand for it.

Hope you find something!

Sorry to wade in here but I'm looking to hire just a standard Mustang or Camaro (ideally soft top) from Atlanta (same drop off point) but none of the hire companies seem to be able to guarantee the models, it always just says "Mustang or similar" and I don't want to end up with a Sebering or some rubbish!

Anyone got any advice?

Hertz Adrenaline collection. I posted a thread about it in the General Gassing section last month and there was lots of advice.

Hertz Adrenaline collection is good. Failing that, try Buckhead Enterprise, they have a huge collection of premium cars, from Audi, Porsche etc.

Hertz Adrenaline are sold out those dates apparently, but even if not it's about £1600 for the 2 weeks which is more than expected. A standard Mustang seems more like £550 ish. I wonder if I should just pitch up at the airport when I arrive and see which car hire company has an actual Mustang in stock... risky I know, but then so is pre-paying for a Mustang and getting handed the keys to a Sebering!

I always go hertz and never not had a Camaro SS convertable. Picked up a one in New York and dropped off in LA ! 350 dollars extra. Worth every penny. For a short break down the Keys a few weeks ago, booked a mustang out of Miami , got given a c350 convertable merc. £67 a day

£1600 is very expensive, I just booked a Camaro SS through Hertz for 10 days in October collecting from San Fran airport and it was £635.
