Looking at getting some for the R32, anyone tried them on the R32 MK5?

Cool that'll do.

I've got Kumho's that came with the car, dealer said top of the range tyre! err yeah whatever. Got 5mm on them, but hate them so looking to pull them off.

Should be able to get them for about 100 a pop too.

Second option would be Goodyear asymmetric 2. Good grip, slightly softer sidewalls

Had a full set on my R32 when I had it. I thought they were very good, couldn't fault them

Good enough for me then, added to the list:

Cruise Control
OEM Bluetooth
OPS
MDI
Michelin PSS
Wheel refirb
Detail

Got an 09 plate with 49k on the clock, higher mileage than I wanted. Nearly handed it back after the VW Dealer was epically retarded.

Will bare these in mind when replacing the rubber on my gti.

Cruise control retrofit will be very easy, all you'll need is the stalk and spline tool to take the wheel off as your car is an 09 the cable should be there and the steering module should be correct.

Head over to mk5golfgti forum, stalks come up for sale quite often and it's a wealth of information on all variants of the mk5 golf!

Got it booked in to JKM to fit the cruise control this Friday, but cheers for the heads up.

Had those on my R32 and now Edition 30 and they ruined the car in both cases. Bloody awful tyres, on those 2 cars at least. Not so much in outright grip, but in the way they make the car feel twitchy and crashy over bumps, plus a much vaguer turn-in compared to the Michelins.

Wasn't there an Evo test review of tyres, tested on a Mk5 GTi and the Asymmetrics came out as the pick of the bunch?

Will update this post if I find the link, swore I added it to my favourites!

i run Michelen Pilot Sport 3s on my R32.

wouldn't use any other rubber now. wet grip is fantastic! and their very very quiet.
