Morning all!

Myself and a bunch of mates are going to Amsterdam at the end of May for a long weekend.

Anyone have any tips on the best clubs and bars to go to, and anywhere to avoid?

Thanks!

Have you already sorted your accommodation?

I went for a Stag Do a few years ago and we mostly stayed in and around the Red Light area. Tends to be quiet a few bars, and more going on at night.

A few lads went to some clubs which I think where a short taxi ride away but I cant remember the name at the moment.

Yeah, we're staying at the 'Flying Pig Downtown' hostel, near the red light area and not far from the main station.

Not long back from a stag do.

I really enjoyed myself. Plenty of places to eat / drink etc.

We didn't really have a plan - just turned up and went with the flow.

We did go shooting though which was very enjoyable but over pretty quickly!

Been a few times over the years now, Rembrandtplein has a group friendly nightclub and its a good area to have a few beers in local pubs/bars and fairly busy in the summer. Leidseplein is a popular area with lots of food and drink options aswell as a few good coffee shops.

If you love a good smoke print this off and see how many you can visit:http://www.coffeeshop.freeuk.com/Map.html

I personally wouldn't plan too much and wouldn't be too fussed If where you stay isn't central, the trams are cheap and often so it's easy to just hop from one good spot to another

Around the red light area it all looks the same, add beer and smoke to that and you WILL get lost at some point so make sure you make mental notes on anything you could remember

If it's a casual pub/bar and no fancy a smoke just ask them if it's allowed, on my last visit a few allowed weed smoking inside and hated the smoking ban

Make sure nobody takes any photos of prostitues

been about 5 times, some nice restaurants out of drag.

the strip clubs will try to rob you but stand up to them they will leave you.

the good clubs don't like groups of blokes, try to split up and chat some women up. The red light district has pimps and pick pockets so watch your pockets.

look at serviced apartments if you have money.
