Hola,

I have an iPad Air with the lightning connector. I've seen the adaptors for cameras which are ideal.

However, can you access the memory directly from the SD card or does it have to be transferred onto the iPad storage before I can upload to Photobucket, etc?

I have very little storage space and might have to update before my travels if not!

Had one for the older iPad, needed to import them first due to the lack of a regular filesystem/Explorer.

I've got the Air2 and the SD reader and you do still need to copy the photos across to the iPad first. Think there might be some hacks to use the adapter in other ways, but I've not tried any of them.

What exactly do you want to do with the SD Card?

Just view it or edit / delete images on it?

I'm thinking about my forthcoming travels and basically just want to upload to Photobucket or similar...

You can always copy, upload, delete. If you have a 16GB iPad though it might be a bit small if you're taking loads of pictures.

What camera have you got? I used to use an iPad and adaptor like you planned to for uploading, but now have a camera with wifi which works direct to iphone / iPad and removes the need for the adaptor.

Works really well.

Sadly only have a 16gb iPad which is already pretty stuffed.

Considering a 32gb Mini or similar which would be a bit more portable and have space for photos. I've got an RX100 but not the wifi version so eyefi might be the way to go.
