Gatwick long term parking, best option?
Discussion
We've used the Sofitel but now they take the cars off site which being a suspicious and paranoid typical PHer I don't like the idea of. We've used valet parking before when we hadn't heard the horror stories , came back and spent 30 minutes being told crap before the driver turned up in a haze of overheated brakes.
So..what alternatives are there that don't involve farting around with buses at stupid o clock in the morning when our flight is scheduled?
Thx in advance PH

We've used Simply Park and Fly a few times now and really can't fault the service or the cost - no problems with any of the cars we've left with them.
Suppose it all comes down to whether costlier parking at the airport offsets the handing over of your vehicle to a third party which carries your concern that they might go all Ferris Bueller with it.
You pays your money..

I've used http://www.aph.com in the past when i lived in London, very good and they shuttle you in a coach to the airport.
I now only live 5 miles from the airport , 2 miles from APH, so only get cabs these days.

We have always used valet parking at Gatwick and Stansted and never had such a problem. Always on time, professional, uniformed and courteous and the car has been returned with no issues (and no real increase mileage). Admittedly I am aware of some horror stories but I have stuck with same company and both airports and they have been fantastic.Which reminds me, must go and book it again.

I just booked our summer holiday parking yesterday. One night's stay in two rooms (runway view, one double, one family with a double and bunks) plus 15 days parking for about 250 quid at bloc hotel gatwick. Looks great, TripAdvisor good and means our 7am flight to greece will be a bit more manageable.

The buses are literally every 10 mins at Gatwick Longstay and it takes about about 5 mins to Terminal.
I used to go premium but don't bother any more. Book in advance and I paid £35 for this years 7 day ski trip.
Never use the valets though.

Hear too many horror stories to use valet parking (there was a recent thread about a pher's RR blowing it's engine and it took going to court to get reimbursement from the valet company).
Long stay is a breeze and so much cheaper. So you may have to wait 10 minutes and endure a 5 minute bus ride. The fact you have to check in hours ahead it's not so much extra of out of your day in the bigger scheme of things and it's a fair compromise with the knowledge you have the keys and it's relatively secure.
A huge thank you to Umair , PH'er Ironictwist, MD of Garaged.com, who provided a fantastic service , he met us as we pulled up and and the return was equally well choreographed, he even sent us pictures showing our car settled down amongst the exotics at his undercover facility. Plus he was a pleasure to meet and deal with and cheaper than farting around with long term parking.

We use these people every time. Never had any issues. Think we have used them four or five times now. I now only live 5 miles from the airport , 2 miles from APH, so only get cabs these days.
Gatwick official Long stay parking - park up, get on a a free shuttle bus 5 mins later you are in the terminal with the keys of your car safely in your own bag! Would never leave my car keys with anyone!
Tip - if you are with the family and have loads of bags drop them off to departures and come back and park the car
Costs are pretty reasonable but the last time I used it for two weeks when we went to Orlando I paid around £80 for 14 days use.
I'd rather get on a 5 min bus than leave my car keys with a stranger
