I am sure that when it was first announced they implied that Australia was just a one-off novelty and that they were not eligible to win.

Now they seem to have backtracked or forgotten that, and nobody seems to be thinking about it, I guess they are just hoping they don't win.

Anyway. First semi final tonight.

Heard our entry in full for the 1st time today on Ken Bruce's show.
My gods, what a steaming pile of musical crap! Shoving the group in a wood chipper & recording the screams would be better!
What idiot thought a swing/jazz/scat mix with lyrics right out of the "big book of rhyming words" would be a good idea? I know that Eurovision songs are usually crap, but surely the UK should at least try!

Then again I havent heard the rest of them,so for all I know this could be this year's equivalent of Bohemian Rhapsody

I agree (heard our entry when it was performed on Graham Norton's Show a couple of weeks ago).

I don't think we will win (probably).

With all the political block voting, we wouldnt have a chance even with the best song in the world!

And we pay a fortune for this stuff!

It's right down there with "Rock Bottom" for being , well, rock bottom.
If it gets a point, I'll get Paddy Ashdown to eat his hat.

Anyone having a Eurovision party? Last time I mentioned this I was accused of being a slack wristed screamer. Get a few friends round, some suitable drink & a reet gutsy takeway. Last year I was out fetching said grub and missed the Polish (ahem) milking maids.

I'm calling some sort -ism on this, a bearded lady is lifted as a winner, but Downs Syndrome musicians are slated.

Being half serious, I think wink

From tonight's selection only Sweden caught my attention. They're in with a chance.
The rest were dull.
The girlfriend thought the Cyprus entry was "nice".

I think the UK has to actually have a chance at top five this year. Everything else is either dreary or screechy and generally rubbish. But FFS they need to make sure the Electro Velvet pair just sing their song, whatever happens nobody interview them again, they're a bit special.

Russia all day long for me. Fit bird and they have nukes.

I think we'll do better this time, top ten finish, maybe even top five.

Russia got booed last year so may be edged out by politics. as for a UK top 5 finish, I would lay off those drugs. wink

Estonia's entry I thought was good, "Goodbye to Yesterday".

I also like Latvia's entry "Love Injected," a bit circa 2000, William Orbit production on that one. Might be a bit too mature for Eurovision wink

Poland could do well, one of the better ballads IMHO.

Russia is in with a chance, Israel is a bit of fun which could do well.

I think a lot of people will also like Georgia but probably not for the song wink
