What do you think will be the most popular / least popular colour for the new RS? Safe option would be white I think but could be tempted by the Java red.

General consensus is that the car at Geneva looked very pink. Wait until late 2015 and go colour to sample. Get that right ad the world is your lobster :Dcome re-sale. Green (as 997.1 GT3RS or Mexico or Riviera or......). The new RS will be sold for overs from the get-go and no doubt will go up in value as soon as they hit the road. Massive demand for the RS as usual. JZM just sold a 997.2 RS for circa £169,000 so bolstering the marekt values.

Where did the purple come from? Is it a historic racing colour?

I wasn't aware that they would be offering colour to sample if so I would then have no idea what colour to go for! Not sure where the purple comes from but I believe it (or a similar colour) was available in the early 70's, such as Jay Kay's 2.7 RS.

I find it sad that we live in a time when resale colour is more important than the colour you want.

Orange will be the definitive colour for the 991 RS, it seems. And is the launch colour.

White seems unpopular, so could be the rare one.

Silver is a safe bet.

Lilac - acquired taste, but will hide the black plastic well.

Very tricky.. I wanted to like the Orange but saw it at the Geneva show. Under those lights it looked a little Salmon pinkish, so not sure what to go for. GT silver is classy but maybe a bit dull, white may look good as quite a lot of black details on the car to set it off, would have black wheels too. Not sure I have the b*lls for purple.. Is a bit of a shame when spending a load of cash that there is so little choice.

I was going to go for White, but it looks a bit 'odd' on the config with all the black features. Not got the balls for vilolet, Silver or Orange for me, the Wife likes orange.

Why on earth are there only 4 bloody colours to choose from, the GT4 has more. I would really like to go for Carmine Red on my RS, if it was an option.

I think you're right - you cannot go wrong with a launch colour .
997.1 RS , what was the launch colour for the 997.1 RS ? Sure wasnt green was it & was the least ordered colour , most sought after now with orange trailing behind .
997.2 RS the same , launch colour favoured & most popular ?? For me still my favourite & suits the car the best !
991 RS - Personally I think Lilac ( lets just call it old fashioned purple ) will be the colour to have in years to come on the 991 RS .

Thanks for the pics AL001, it's interesting to see the cars in "real life" as the configurator doesn't show the colours very well.

Looking carefully at the RS when at Geneva on Sunday, and trying all tricks to shade the lights etc , I ve decided the colour is very close to the old Blut Orange ( Blood Orange/Tangerine ) of the 1970s. That's what I've gone for.

+1 - buy the colour YOU want, not the colour the next guy wants! Life is too short...

I think the car would look much better with Platinum wheels!
