It's a bit crap that the RS launch colour (Lava Orange) is now available to spec as a standard colour on all 911's.

Noddy GT4 is coming in Guards Red, can't afford PTS

Can only afford a manual gearbox as well...

I too am struggling with the limited colour choice on the new 991GT3RS. Porsche exclusive say they are working on this but the problem is the number of different materials the paint is having to cover. In particular the magnesium roof is giving a different colour tone when painted. They cannot even confirm at this time that PTS will be available. I am told we will know in around another 4 weeks. Porsche paint department are flat out testing as the magnesium roof will most likely appear on other forthcoming GT cars including the 991 GT2/RS.(just into works) All my previous Porsche's have been Guards Red maybe time for a change I guess, but its always been my lucky colour.

Makes sense - I imagine it's a nightmare - not looking forward to trying to deal with any post purchase paint issues - stone chips , or worse - I think I'll wrap mine

I have now been given a date of November for my allocation. I was also told that I should be able to get PTS.

Yes UK Porsche dealers have got build dates for their allocated cars. Mine is August build September delivery. By the close out for final specification we will know what colours to customer sample they are happy to offer on the GT3RS. They already have requests for viper green, various blues and guards red as well as black from main land Europe and USA markets.(LHD) Looks like the UK will get around 140 ish customer cars + celebrity as well as 918 customer allocations. Apparently a few of the 918 owners have sadly already pre sold their allocation to car traders for a premium.

Green & Blue seem favourites - will these end up as the de facto 991RS colours?

I finalised my October build order at the weekend in GT Silver. Some may think this is boring; I wanted contrast with the venting details but I hate white cars.
I didn't have the balls to order purple even though I think this will be the "viper green" choice of the future.

I agree, my car is currently configured as Ultra Violet in the event I don't go through with PTS. Not for any other reason than I think it is the best of the 4 standard colours.
