Well the runaround continues as I am now told of further delay as there are 2016 model updates being made and this will add a "few more weeks" to delivery!! Seems like it is one thing after another as while I placed my order 23rd June, it seems factory did not accept order till 10th July. Anyone else have similar problems? I am also told that I cannot get a courtesy car until after order week 20 which will cause me issues as my company was was due back 27th July and while I have had it extended , it was until September only.

Ordered mine through central UK vehicle leasing on 23rd March, should arrive this Thursday. That's 20 weeks.
Extras- tow bar, dynamic lights and area view.

Hi,

Any idea what these 2016 updates are?

I ordered a black R-Line with dynamic air suspension, area cameras and privacy glass back in May and the delivery has just gone back from end of October to early November. I have an unconfirmed build week - 42 so it still may change.

Thanks

Something similar for me; ordered last week in May, factory order accepted 10th June, with forecast of Sept delivery, slipped to build week 38 and now to week 43, unconfirmed!!
Really frustrated and VW seem reluctant to provide a courtesy car.
Appreciate any thoughts from those who know better!!

Pretty sure I read a list of 2016 refinements, but there was virtually nothing of note from memory.

Hang on in there, they are great vehicles. cool

I read that 'Euro 6 Compliant' engines aren't affected by this scandal. I also read that the Facelifted Tregs (post 2014) shipped with these new engines. Is this the case? or should we all wait with baited breath.

Yes Euro 6's aren't affected, I've not read anything at all about 6 pot engines being affected at all though?

We've heard today V6 TDI's are unaffected and not part of the problem.

All of you owners who have had your cars for a while would you have another and;

1. What do you like most about the car
2. What do you like least about the car
3. What would you change.

1. What do you like most about the car

Comfortable, quiet and discrete

2. What do you like least about the car

Not much, perhaps the auto stop/start and the auto handbrake

3. What would you change.

I'd go for a slightly higher spec next time with air, cameras and audio upgrades.

But, I probably wouldn't buy one with my own pennies at the moment, I'd lease subject to getting the right deal.

There's going to be a bit of fallout for a little while until the emissions storm blows over, this will likely affect residuals on all VW's for a little while.

Hi Coin, thank you for your reply, I am glad you are enjoying your car. I think the car comes pretty well specd compared to the likes of BMW and Mercedes, however stray from the standard specification and things get expensive £437.50 per wheel for a one inch increase in wheel and tyre size, for what appears to be a cheaper wheel as its not diamond cut.Nappa leather at nearly £2k also seems expensive compared to BMW.

Mines bogo standard, doesnt really want for anything tbh.
If it was a keeper then I would have gone for black inserts on the trim, shinny metalised inserts are a pet hate of mine. Also I find that if the seats are not at the exact height then it can be a bit uncomfortable on the back of the legs, so again if it was a keeper I would consider 'comfort seats' if there was such an option.
On the positives the economy for such a big beast really impresses me, best I've had on longer journeys is 49mpg, worse is 26mpg on short trips. It's averaged 34mpg since new. I will add that included the running in which it takes at least a 1000 miles before it went much over 32mpg even on a run and 28mpg around town. I suspect if I reset the trip computer now it would be averaging around 38mpg on mixed driving.
Does everything a X5 of GLE will do for a lot less money and is more discrete too.

You must drive like a saint smile

I'm averaging 29, never seen above 30 even on a run frown

Not sure if you've driven a lot of autos, if you have forgive me! But coming off the power much earlier than a manual when slowing down helps immensely around town, reading the road ahead etc. with the Coast function selected you get little engine/drive line braking until it's below 25kph when it's in effect coasting in neutral and de clutched until that point.
Never really giving it much throttle, it doesn't need it. I do drive like a saint on the motorway, keeping it below 62mph mist of the time gave 49mpg over a 120 mile journey. Normal motorway driving up to about 75 will still see it late 30's low 40's. I'm stuck on the motorway most mornings and just potter up the inside At a steady speed rather than joining the start stop brigade in the other lanes.
Warm up and gentle throttle during that makes the most difference Imhe at the beginning of the journey and knocks on into the overall consumption. I can go to the beach with the dogs, like this morning, which is less than 2 miles away and still get the trip to be 30mpg.
Obviously not trying hard enough! Or too hard dependent on your out look....

Just to add, I do brim to brim check the consumption and find the between fill ups gauge to be within 1mpg, sadly normally 1mpg the wrong side of it. So at worse take 1mpg off my figures....

I was just reading a long term test review by car magazine of the previous model from 2012 in Altitude spec with 245 bhp. They strapped some timing gear on the car and managed a 0 to 60 time of 6.9 seconds. As the current model is supposedly around 200 kg lighter and has more power it makes you wonder if the official time is a little conservative.

Had my new Touareg R Line a total of 29 days before some git decided to wallop the rear quarter panel with something. So now have a lovely dent in my 65 Plate car. Absolutely gutted when I saw it.

Likes - Performance & Cost (VW Lease Deal)
Dislikes - Random Vandalism and Smallish boot (for comparative size of car)
Change - The Seats. Need more support in the sides and more cushioning under your bum and thigh support.
