Ultima logo decals
Discussion
I'll be painting/wrapping my Ultima shortly and was thinking about getting some Ultima GTR decals/logos put on but not sure what would look best?
It's partly because for the most part nobody in Europe seems to know what it is. They always seem to ask when I'm trying to sort something out. I like the chat but sometimes......
Of course I could do the factory decals but was thinking about doing something different.
Any thoughts or pictures?

I don't like the Factory sticker. I have used chrome letters to spell out the name on the rear.
Note to Factory
How about a proper Ultima badge.
Exactly this. I agree 100%. I won't be using the decals and we're sorely lacking a proper Ultima badge/logo. Absent that, my car will be going naked.Note to Factory
How about a proper Ultima badge.

This was one area that I've looked at as was not taken with the factory option. Instead, as the car is all about fun and enjoying life for me, I've gone with a simple smillie on the wheel centres and on the front and rear of the car
Spent a sunny Sunday afternoon going thro various ideas and animal logos but they all seemed to have been taken with only the sad stuff left, the thought of a Hare in badge form adorning the car didn't do it for me !

Aren't badges/logos mainly something that multi-national corporations employ to distinguish their product from others? Admittedly, certain people would be quite annoyed to spend 100k on a Merc S-class status symbol, only to find out afterwards that most folks are not able to distinguish it from a Kia Optima or Hyundai Equus; so they need that badge/logo that proves to their neighbours that one was able to spend twice or three times the money.
Of course the badge alone doesn't cut it if the product is not really that amazingly different; one has to have ad campaigns that go in parallel, which are telling you how amazing the product is. Why else would people spend 500 quids on an iphone built from hardware worth 100 quids?
But then there is no car that is/looks even remotely similar to an Ultima - so why do you need a badge? Frankly I prefer my money is spend on actual (insane) performance - rather than on marketing or on making some shareholders happy. And if that means people can't identify what I am driving, well... do I have to care?
(Apologies in advance for the little rant - I guess I am missing that branding gene!)

A 'badge' would also make the car seem less 'kit'. May also help market the 'brand' too.

To be clear: I couldn't give the proverbial toss what anyone else thinks of me or anything I own or do. I've never been one to require external validation of any sort. If one isn't interested in "status" than the entire "status symbol" issue becomes entirely moot. I couldn't possibly care less whether anyone else can identify my car, hence my intention to omit the garish factory decals.Aren't badges/logos mainly something that multi-national corporations employ to distinguish their product from others? All I want is a little logo that catches the eye and is visually appealing. Not to some other guy, but to me. I happen to like Ferrari's prancing horse because it's a neat logo, not because of any poser content it might have to others. That's one reason why I'd rather commission one of the graphic artists I sometimes employ to produce a custom logo for my car, rather than appealing to Ultima to create one: because I'm not interested in being an uncompensated rolling advertisement for someone else's product, no matter how much I enjoy it personally.
(Anyways, apologies back to you for the return rant)
Ken
HA ! YES! I NEVER GO OUT W/O MY BRAND TO SHOW THE WORLD !
Fact is, only a gear head or Piston head would know what an Ultima is, no one cares and few will build one or buy one
My "kit car" is always called out as a "KIT" or "is that real?", I say "stand in front of it a hole"

Well, looking at it from that perspective, it becomes perfectly comprehensible (even to me ). Sorry, I just took the initial "we lack a badge/logo" statement the wrong way. I will not wear clothing with advertising on it. A hat yes, if it's free!
I buy things because they are comfortable/well made/efficient/or simply because I like them. I have given away a well made shopping bag with my company name on it for advertising just to get the name known (which I suppose is a form of brand building).
I like the thought of a well designed emblem/badge but not the stick on black name graphics.

Actually, I played around in word doing this a while ago. The orginal text I think is bold italic Rockwell, I tried a whole bunch of different texts and actually I don't mind the original version. What might be aa bit more special if we as a pistonheads club/community come up with one to show we are also community members??? just an idea!
