Steering wheel volume control

Picked up my new wrx sti which has the pioneer sat nav, however the steering wheel.volume controls don't work. The dealership are dragging their feet as they say it should have had a different cable but Subaru are saying the opposite. Personally don't care what the issue is just want it fixing. Has anyone else had this issue.
