I'm sure many do and many don't.

At the moment I'm doing a job that I don't like. I was made redundant so had to take what was available at the time.
Same kind of industry but not the same job. I seem to dread going in and can't wait to get home, but it's what I have to do to keep paying the bills until I get a different one.

So anyone else in the same boat and doesn't like the job they are doing?

I love all of mine, but poorly paid and no real security (zero hour contract)

I only changed due to redundancy, but I was 99% blissfully happy in my old role!

It could just be I am a very contented person, generally speaking? (current car situation excepted...)

I like my job and the people I work with. Unfortunately the future does not look too rosy. We were taken over a few years ago but our division is loss making.
I am looking for a better job but will probably go self employed again.

Self employed - Has it's good days and bad days, but what job doesn't? Self employed earnings seem to be sweeter than employed ones. Strange.
Anyway, love the commute, prob less than a minute by foot. smile and I've noticed the boss is sweet tempered, reasonable and friendly.

I have the perfect job for me......sadly we have a major threat of serious redundancies coming our way, likely tomorrow or if not, by the end of the year. Plus I have a rigorous medical once a year and a difficult performance check every 6 months......so, life is awesome but with the constant threat of losing my job due to medical issues, performance, loss of contract or anything else. Sometimes wonder if it's better to do a job which I don't enjoy as much, but with security.

Love mine. Small family company, good and steady growth, really good pay for the role and I get a bonus each year.

We all have to be really versatile and wear many hats but that makes life interesting.

fk no. But short of getting younger and shorter I can't think of anything I'd want to do for a job.

I love what I do now yes.

But I left a job I hated and went to Uni and further training to get into this job....

Hate it.

Been at it the same place for coming up to eight years. It was meant to be a job until I went to uni. I decided to drop out of uni (well never went) to join the Police...then cut backs. Six years later I'm still waiting to join the Police.

But, its a job, it pays the bills. I'm thinking of getting a transfer to a different store for a change.

I used to despise my old job and the people I used to work for. Its not good for you and in retrospect I should have moved on about 4-5 years before I did. As luck would have it I managed to go self employed in a different field but I would always advocate that the grass isnt always greener on the other side....it just usually is. If you are dreading tomorrow morning, move on. Life's too short. I get butterflies on Sunday night now 1 year in and love it.

Thanks all, glad to see people are enjoying the work they do. That's the plan Fridaypassion, I'm actively looking and applying for jobs I would enjoy. If nothing comes along it has always been in my mind to look about going self employed, but unfortunately the lack of savings at the moment will not allow it :-(.

On the whole, I love it now I'm getting into the swing of it, but it's taken just over a year! Was a utility tree cutter before, so cutting trees around HV powerlines as a self employed cutter, and am now directly employed by the company I contracted for, but as a jointer. Hated it to start with, hated working in holes in the ground, hated not knowing anything and having to start again.

It's taken this long to actually feel like I have any sort of knowledge about it at all, and I still have days that I wish I was back cutting occasionally, but these get rarer and rarer as the weeks go on. Having to start at the bottom again was difficult though!

Not really. I work in IT. I used to develop software but went into management. I have a new boss and I have less responsibility than I used to so I'm plodding along at the minute. My job is changing into a business analyst role soon and I'm not convinced it's what I want at all. (It re-organisation) I like travel and there will be more of that in the new role.

The thing is work life balance is more important to me than my job. I earn good money, I have a 3 mile commute and I have good hours including a 1:30pm finish on Fridays. I rarely stay back or do overtime, I never work weekends and I get a decent pension here. There's a lot worse jobs I could be doing and a lot worse companies out there than mine.

It's ok, has many ups and downs, I don't dread going in to work every day, but I can't say I'm excited about what I do.

There's no chance of progression here - joy of working for a small company - so will probably be looking to move on before the end of this year.

Really enjoy all aspects when I'm well, but when I'm not 100% it can be awful because you have to act like you're 100%! (Health/fitness business.) Love it so much, I'd even do it on national minimum wage - bet you can't say that about your job.
