I'm beginning to think that the 'GTS Communication Pack' doesn't represent very good value at £2k-odds for red stitching, a carbon strip on the dash which I don't like anyway because its bling when the car should project function, iffy pinstripe seatbelts and red trimmed floormats. The car seems to come with a pretty high level of interior specification as standard.

Maybe better to go for the lightweight bucket seats, get Guards Red belts which do look good, the deluxe floormats and some extra leather bits instead? By the time I have that plus the manual box and the PCCB's I have saved some serious weight. What do you think chaps?

Was thinking the same, but then ended up in buying it, it does make the difference in a GTS.

They are cunning, they know that.

This is where we are at present -

Even after seeing the Spyder, I'm thinking that the GTS is still the way to go. It's a proper open top GT/Sports car. Good as the Spyder undoubtedly is, iconic as it certainly is, a and with the epic 3.8 litre engine, I think that the GTS is the better practical all round package. I don't think that the Spyder is something for every day, especially in places where it rains a lot.

If you can keep it in a garage for good days and just watch it appreciating, it's probably a very good proposition.

We did initially specify the GTS interior pack ( or communication pack that they call it now for some totally obscure reason) but deleted it when we decided on PCCB to recoup some of the added cost. As it turned out we were very glad we did, the following weekend we returned to our dealer and they had both a car with the interior pack and also one with interior package painted. We both instantly preferred the interior pclage painted, with our chosen colour of Carrara white the White trim strips really lifted the interior from the coal cellar effect the interior pack gave, even with the deviated stitching.

Here are a couple of photos of the interior package painted on our own car at the dealer prior to PDI :-

That looks fantastic. Very effective indeed. Is the dashboard leather as part of the standard kit?

Yes, top of dashboard, doors, sides of centre console the same as the full leather option, with the difference that the door cards, dashboard below the trim strips, seat centres, steering wheel rim and gear lever / selector trimmed in Alcantara. The head restraints are still embroidered with "GTS" but in black stitching rather than red or silver - which is more subtle and I prefer.
