Bloody British weather! Looking forward to this though. Just had pasta for dinner and lining up breakfast tomorrow. Flapjacks pre-cut and wrapped.

5 hr 14 mins for me. Struggled with dead feet before the 2nd food stop but they came back towards the end. Very sore arse too. Very pleased to finish but I'd be lying if I said I enjoyed it. I really need to work on comfort in the saddle.

My first century smile Also suffering from a sore arris. Legs feel fine, strangely. What's the betting they won't in the morning?

Well done Tobinen. It wasn't the warmest weather either which never helps the enjoyment. Kept my eyes open for a PH top on the off-chance but didn't see you. Did you get the cheers and applause from the three girls on the pavement climbing out of Finchingfield? Cheered me up a treat!

Wasn't the most enjoyable ride for me either. A bit too grey and windy, everything started feeling a bit tedious at around 80 miles.

Got my first 'gold' time on a wiggle event. Purely down to not spending very long at the feed stations, I accidentally missed the first one out completely!

Good work chaps. From what I've learned I am pretty sure I have a 100 mile ride in me. My quads are fine this morning but it's the back of my knees which ache the most, mainly the bottom of the hamstring on the outside of the leg from pulling up hard on the pedals.

I bought a pair of XL bib shorts and these definitely helped and cured my discomfort in the groin area, though they do look odd as the legs are at my knees. Another good purchase on Saturday was a clear lightweight gilet. I had that over my winter top without a base layer and that seemed to do the job.

My dead feet I put down to wearing summer socks. I think I should've put my overshoes on - certainly others seemed to do the same.

I had one bloke comment on the PH top up a hill after Clare (the last food stop), he came past me very easily.

Overall I thought it was pretty well run. Parked up pretty quickly, registration was painless and the drinks and bananas at the food stops definitely helped. I took a jam-filled panini and a flapjack and they got me through it.

Also some very tidy crumpet in attendance wink
