Has anyone actually driven one yet?

Ecaine?

Anyone know a dealer in the North West that has a demo car yet?

No, not driven one yet. I actually don't plan on it for a while as historically it makes me want to sell the current and buy the new! lol. The A45 is giving me plenty to be happy about at the moment so i'll stick with that for the foreseeable.

However, just for the fun of it I will get out in the AMG GTS when it arrives smile

Anyone driven one yet? Just wondered if the gearbox was as bad as the old C63 or has that been sorted now?

New one is based on a revised version of the old 7G but as far as i know it's being well rated.

Is that the MCT 'box? Same one I've got in the 2014 E63?

Or the same one that was in the pre-facelift C63?

It's MCT, so as per facelift (>2012) C63's and all W212 E63's. It's one thing I wish our ML63 had, as the standard 7G plus box is a relative weak point - not sure why exactly they didn't fit it the ML (something to do with the towing capacity I think?).

I get the feeling MCT is regarded as a bit of an old pensioner gearbox these days but I like it (for a road car at least). It combines a nice direct feel not dissimilar to a DCT, but is smoother than a DCT 'box in stop start traffic and manoeuvring. Reports suggest AMG have improved it further for the new C63 which bodes well.

It's a much upgraded version of the MCT box though so not the same version as seen in the last C63 (facelift).

From videos etc the gearchanges are much quicker both up and down and it doesn't seem as dimwitted as the version in my old C63 Coupe.

Honestly, that'll just be the software. AMG have been notoriously 'safe' in their gearbox programming meaning they've always been artificially slow. Simple software updates are correcting this across the range as their philosophy changes. There may be some token hardware changes but on the whole, it'll largely be the same old MCT box with some properly calibrated software.

Does Matc ever reply to emails from PH? I've emailed him twice now and not had a response. Thought he was the go-to guy for Merc deals.

He's not at merc now. He's very busy in his new role hence quiet on the forum.

Just been sent this pic of a car in Warrington.

Apart from not being a wagon, it's the exact spec we put in the configurator last weekend. Hope to go and see it tomorrow.

Managed to start one up yesterday. Heres the link if anyone is interested https://youtu.be/4gGmeffU9KA it didn't have the AMG Sports exhaust, although it still makes a great sound.

Nice, I'll have to pop into Merc Warrington to have a look at the new C63.

Had a good long look at one at Brooklands last week, unfortunately for me the exterior styling and proportions (especially the rear), and the iPad interior make it a no no for me..

Hope it drives better than it looks!

I have had a new white C250 for about 6 months and really like it. Would jump at the AMG version in a heartbeat!

A C63s and doesn't have a sports exhaust? I thought they were standard on AMG's in general

Performance exhaust is a cost extra. Same as A45 etc.
