One of my favourites any where ruined. Always feared its popularity would cause something like this frown

Bah...are they putting cameras up or parking scamera vans along there?

We've had a 40 limit across the moors a couple of miles from me. Nobody takes any notice of it. We used to pull 100 in rally cars over that bit.

Same as the Snake, 50mph, you just need to know where the bucket squatters park their vans.

Tell them if they're going to stick 40s everywhere, that's Wales off my list of places to come and spend my money.

They've had Scamera bikes up there for a good while now normally just on the approach to the towns (Llandovery Llandeilo Brynaman ) sometimes sit just below the hairpin and catch people booting it away up the hill

In fairness I've only watched the first three minutes of the above, but there's a plethora of houses, schools, drives, pedestrian crossings, shops, parked cars and pedestrians. All of which present a hazard to the unwary motorist travelling above 40mph .........

confused

Madness. frown

All the lovely speed limit signs will enhance the natural beauty of the area...

They also make the road more dangerous - something else to hit if you do have an off.

Pretty sure most people will continue to drive as before along it anyway.....

The ones I looked at on there highlighted red are retaining speed limits and just doing works??

I was scratching my head, the llwyn Onn reservoir section for example just up from Merthyr on the 470, Llywn Onn, then look at the Libunus section. The definition seemed to contradict itself or are they extending the limits? That is making the sections of road where it applies, longer. Llwyn Onn will be a new one?

Then the 483, looks like s drop to 50?

Maybe its me not reading it right. There are a few mentions of retaining limits but works to improve the road.

As a resident of Llangadog there is nothing up there except for sheep and ramblers. Has there been a string of fatalities or accidents? Probably not?

I was up the mountain giving my track car a warm through on Sunday.

There was a sneaky traffic cop with a radar gun lurking on the inside of the big hairpin near the top of the mountain. He was targeting drivers in both direction. Hopefully just escaped a ticket, don't think the CBR rider I'd been chasing was as lucky.

Could you post a Google Maps link for the benefit of non-locals?

I made the trip there last week without knowing of these new limits... raced across the mountain in my little mazda anyway. Granted the 1.8 never got much above 60 anyway but there were literally dozens of bikers zooming along anyway, along with a couple of TVRs and a 430 scuderria. Don't think it's deterring many.
