I need to get wishbones blasted and coated, suggestions for where to get this done, and what coating is most durable would be much appreciated. I'm quite happy to send them off so location is not important.

Will the blaster/coaters also be willing to fit the new bushes, as I don't have a press? (I don't intend to do the coating myself)

Thanks

Got my suspension components blasted, zinc coated and then plastic coated and so far they look as good as the day they were done a year or so ago - ok, my car misses the winter and I haven't done that much mileage but I'm pleased enough.

It was a local company up here in the north east - bettablast in shiremoor - I'm sure there will be somewhere more local to you though? I'd be a bit reluctant to post suspension bits I case they were lost and they all weigh a bit too!

Local garages tend to have presses if the plastic coating companies can't help.

Good luck with it - good to see some pics, before and after?

I did the same thing back in Jan. After 18 years of alleged dodgy TVR Powder Coating the wishbones stood up really well. Only lower n/s front needed replacing.

You really need to strip the wishbones before Powder Coating. All bushes out - pig of a job. On the lower rears you have the adjusters these needed a lot of brute force to shift.

I used a local garage to strip everything down and used local Powder Coating company. I also had rear uprights done, roll bars, exhaust tray and various brackets.

Once you have all the suspension stripped it's then checking wheel bearings, ball joints etc.

Considering using these guys, as they specialise in domestic rather than commercial work, and they are very convenient in terms of location and opening hours.

Any thoughts?
