I am looking at getting an uprated intercooler for my 225 St.
The one I am looking at is the radtec cooler from pumabuild, has anyone had experience with radtec?
What sort of difference am I likely to feel in driving the car.
The car also has 3 inch down pipe,3 inch decat, centre silencer delete and group a induction.
What sort of bhp will I likely to see on the rollers before it is mapped with the above mods?
Radtec are making a pretty big claim of 34bhp with there cooler,I doubt that but some sort of gain would be nice.

An intercooler won't gain you any power, it just prevents you losing it due to the ECU backing things off when the inlet temps get too high. I've ran the Radtec for about 2 years now, great intercooler although a touch tall! It really needs the bottom grille changing and the number plate moving to take advantage of it all.

Why does it need the lower bumper and plate moved?
Looks like it might need the horns moved as well.
Does it drive any different since u put the cooler on?

I had a black Auto Specialists intercooler but personally never notices any difference with it fitted. Perhaps I needed for performance mods other than a remap.

Mine has the Mountune upgrade with the larger intercooler. Cant remember who makes them, but they do relocate the horn when fitting. Not sure why the number plate needs moving tbh. The intercooler as everyone says, will make no power difference without a boost increase. You are heading the right way with the removal and upgrade of the restrictions, but you now make it work better for when the boost increase is added.

Be better mapping the car first then?

Proalloy make the Mountune intercooler.

No real point upgrading the intercooler unless you are remapping the ecu.

Because the top half of the lower grille effectively blocks half of the airflow to the intercooler itself, horns relocate to a bracket on the top of the intercooler. It made quite a difference to the top end of the rev range but this was to be expected, I was using a map which required an uprated intercooler.
