Hi Guys

I've been looking for a GT for a few weeks thought I found an amazing one today 62 plate in immaculate condition with only 4k on the clock. Took it for a drive and all seemed great however when we got back I opened the door and noticed smoke/steam billowing out from the bonnet, opened the bonnet to a plume. Seemed to be coming from the exhaust manifold/cat on the drivers side towards the bulk head.

Needless to say I walked away but does anyone know the cause of this? There also seemed to be lots of green stuff all over the aluminium parts of the engine bay, initially I thought it to be coolant but all 4 of the cars they had there were covered in it. Some sort of anti corrosion coating perhaps?

Thanks for the help.

Don't know about the smoke/steam but the green gunk is perfectly normal and I believe is some sort of protection against corrosion and such things, so no need to worry about the gunk side.

The smoke will probably be due to a minor oil leak on the driver's side cam-plate. It seeps from there and drips on to the hot exhaust overpipe.
Quite a common fault that's rectified under warranty.

30 for me, pretty consistent.
40 on a run sticking to 70 on motorways.
