In the not too distant past, Business Class flights from Dubai to the UK used to be around or just over the price of an Economy ticket. Now it seems to be at least three times the price, often four times!

Has anyone else noticed a huge jump in the price for Business, or is it just me?

I have been flying BA and EK for years, in Y and J class, and I have not seen a difference, but I have seen a reduction in the gap between J and F

Not noticed TBH, but it seems to me that economy has gone down as well as business maybe going up hence a bigger differential.

I last flew First (Emirates) to Hong Kong (via Dubai) return (partly on an A380) around 18 months ago and got change out of £3k which I thought was a very good deal.

Just booked my Mrs on a return economy flight to Dubai with BA for £340! Cheap as chips.

Airline makes a big difference to business class price (or at least it did when I last flew that way), so suggest you shop around.

Interesting, I flew First to Tokyo with BA in Feb only because it was only £300 more than business. Apparently the 'cheaper' business seats had been already allocated and they'd just released some further First seats. I guess I was just lucky on the right, but for a £300 difference it was a no brainer. Will check all options when booking my next flight rather than just assuming Business is a lot cheaper.

Club Europe has decreased hugely - the seats now are identical to the entire plane so 6 each row, clearly the middle row is empty so plenty of elbow room but the arms used to be outside of the seat giving more arse space they are now as per economy.
Legroom has also decreased notably before I could fully stretch out and chap in front seat fully back with inches to spare before my knee touched the seat, now its inches to spare Before the seat goes back.
Air vents adjustable ones are only on the first 2/3 rows of Business class rest of plane no longer has direct cool airflow - not great if in Business class you don't get first two rows.
Check in overseas isn't policed so non Club Class/silver holders simply splurge into which ever row is free... Why is it not policed?
Check in overseas is 2 hours max before flight takes off so as we recently experienced after security and boarding we literally had 40 mins in it enough to have a sandwich one drink and a toilet break. Should be opened hours before hand.
Luggage capacity is very good
Toilets on board are not policed so cattle class come into Business and line up awaiting to use the facilities - we pay for very few to a toilet not all in.
Cattle class overhead luggage keeps on appearing in Business class annoying as then they come in knocking you etc.
Lastly Business pay to be first off... Well in T5 we landed without attached to terminal so had stairs ... Only ones available were to back of plane so last off and had to wait for next bus to pick us up. Our luggage was the last but two other guests on the plane.

Considering it cost 3x the price I'm not happy.

And then to close it off T5 Business class parking 5 mins should be the max time.. It was 12 mins (no traffic) then chap chucked out bags in the boot two fell out onto the floor from height (we had gifts inside - luckily not broken). Then at the Business Class car park the only 2 vans in duty stopped for a good chat --- which makes sense why the delays in service.

Clearly complaint letter going in its well below par.

Practically every flight I have been on to/from Dubai has been packed in business.

The price has risen for most flights ver the last couple of years
but try the 1st Class price as it is sometimes cheaper (on Emirates anyway)

I think this is because a lot of business would not pass first through expenses claims. I printed off both prices to show it was cheaper!
(This holds true for train travel Manchester to London as well)

Indeed - we booked some Singapore flights last night.

Economy for 2 - £954
Business for 2 - £4,545

I can deal with a 7 hour flight on Singapore Airlines for a difference of £3.5k.

Club Europe ain't worth doing in my opinion, Club World, yes, but Club Europe no. So I'm cattle class in Europe, but I certainly haven't ever put my luggage in business class!

I'm Silver Card so book my seats when I book my flight no matter what class I fly - there's your problem solved (I think, although it's not really clear what your issue is with people "splurging into which ever row is free")

Sorry you misunderstood - I don't mean booking the seats I mean standing in the line to hand your bags in at an overseas airport with a specific Business Class & cattle class entry.

Not online seat selection smile.

Thought T5 business parking was what is now known as pod parking? No bus required.

Regarding being bussed off - st happens really...

On a different note - you can still sometimes get reasonable Z class fares. Need to do some digging for them though usually.

I thought everyone knew that the quickest parking at T5 is the short stay. 1 min walk to the terminal. Book online in advance & you frequently get a cheaper price than any of the other car parks.

Silvers & Bronzes are allowed to use the Club class check-ins.

The key to getting good business pricing is timing. You can find some good deals if you do your research. We flew to Oz at Christmas in 1st as it was cheaper than Club. If you are a fly enough you'll have enough points anyhow to not need to pay for business!!

Nope that's Pod parking T5 Business parking is over the road from it.

Short stay parking is a lot more - even if you book up early as all the other options are much cheaper.

2-3 weeks in short stay would be pricy v £95 T5 business parking
