Having lived with taped up holes in my rear screen for the past couple of years it is definitely new roof time. (As there is now a big tear in it across the back.)

I think I am on my third screen and they always go in the same place - just behind the struts where there is a funny fold in the perspex.

Does anyone know who can supply a roof with this type of narrower screen fitted?

(Burghley last year)

It looks like it will fold in a much neater way and presumably will last longer. I can live with marginally worse roof up visibility.

Thanks.

You should be able to specify the size of window.

The chap who makes the Surrey Roof targa panel has also a replacement set of rear struts that instead of a single pivot hinge have a knuckle joint that give space for the window to sit in.

The Surrey roof looks interesting too, but I'm going to do the hood and recover the hardtop first.

I hadn't realised the rear window size was optional. In the past they have just been replaced as is.

My bro had his Tam done a few years back by a firm called West Country Trimmers, Newton Abbott. Its probably where mine will go (eventually), even found a pic of Barry's car from an old thread....

You appear to have missed the point of mentioning Cambria Cirrus

I`m in the same boat as you Andy, ripped rear screen and now the stitching has gone as well. The car is either roof down or under a cover so it never shows,so it don`t really bother me, but toying with idea of selling up so need to throw some money at the old girl.
Can`t live with those rear screens though eek just don`t look right IMO

When it is up you only really use the bit between the seats as a window. Mine is normally down too which is why they keep wearing out. The issue is trying to fold a curve. It doesn't work so kinks to a point. Narrower should be much neater.

Hi Andy there's a guy in Huddersfield who's done afew repairs to my roof. I think his details were given to me by Craig at TvR in Clitheroe. I'm no sure what their quality is like . It's

Tony Archer Hoods 01484 536832

I'd be interested to know who you go to in the end as I'm in the same boat and will be getting it done after the re-paint

Thanks Buzz. Craig gave me a Blackpool address but I haven't heard back from an email. Huddersfield would be more convenient.

I have tried that but it doesn't really stop the kink and is a bit of a faff.

I have also heard tales of towels exiting at speed.

That's my car. Allon White the Morgan place in Cranfield did it. The new rear section & targa re-cover was £550. No issues at all now putting the roof down. Had it done about 3 years ago

I used to use a heavy cardboard tube that I covered with felt on my Lotus Elan and intend trying to do this now I have the Tamora. Hopefully will work as well as it did.

Thanks.
