Hi Guys and Girls

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

Looking at this car :

Any issues with the Sag engine going in to the 350 ?

Anything particular I need to look for ?

I have had a Cerbera and Tuscan before so I am not a newbie fortunately.

Cheers

My personal thoughts - I don't know the car but why the engine transplant instead of a rebuild? He's done 30k on the Sag engine but how many miles has that done prior to his fitting to his car? Has that had any rebuild?
The roof chip needs a respray to the roof so factor that in.
Nice colour scheme and servicing is all to date.

Another 1k gets you this and a warranty (or at least 3mths SOGA) plus a Power top end rebuild and half the miles - again I don't know the car but would certainly take a look - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

Finally £1500 more than the first and I think this is stunning - http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

Don't the silver screw covers on the rear screen virtually guarantee that he's a PHer? Apologies I can't remember who sorted them out (Lee/Alex/?) but they're not available commercially. Owner may be along shortly.

Agree entirely that you need to know more of the story. It looks like the engine had done 17k before it went into this car but geographically, the car has had 3 or 4 owners I'd guess. And it has barely turned a wheel in the past 12 months for some reason. It may well be a cracking car, I'm not making any judgment, it's just there's some questions to be answered.

Don't know where I remember this from, but I think the owner was trying to sell circa 12 months ago as he was being sent abroad with work. Perhaps this explains why it has covered so little mileage as of late. Or perhaps I'm getting it mixed up with another car

Perhaps a chat with Str8six who fitted the engine and serviced recently.
I viewed this last November and seemed in good shape overall, the service file is huge. I really like the colour too, grey looks (IMO) much better in the flesh. I almost bought but a Tamora came up I couldn't say no to.

Hi Darrren,

This is my car.

Regarding the screw covers, I bought with them fitted, previous owner was also on here.

I have spent probably 9 of the last 12 months in South Africa, hence the car not being used. Yes, the car has been for sale previously, but I decided it was best to wait and get the 12,000 mile service done, so hopefully any buyer would have some piece of mind.

Any other questions please ask away.

James

Lots of [reasonable] reasons spring to mind. Availability, time and cost would all be reasonable to me.

Yup! And as I said, just my own thoughts. People all have different ideas, preconceptions, thoughts etc when viewing and looking at cars. As mentioned I don't know the car, the history looks very up to date and I'm sure it's a good one but I can only go by what I see and the questions I would raise, wouldn't stop me from taking a closer look though smile
