Interesting that loads have disappeared off the market, looks like I bought at the right time. They're a proper bit of kit these things, have put loads of miles on mine and can't think of anything I'd change it for at this money.

Still hating the lack of cup holders though.
£211 to get the cup holder mech

I think I know the answer but I'll ask anyway. There is a set of OZ Racing wheels off a 997 Turbo available. All 19". Fronts are the same as standard R, whereas the rears are 11" 50mm offset. Based on my knowledge there are two potential problems:

1. The rear rims would extend 1" further into the wheel well; and

2. The tyres fitting an 11" rim would make that even worse.

Long story short I don't think an R can take a shod 11" rim in the rear. Is that correct?

Couple of shots after this mornings cleaning .

Only one occasion this week of someone saying why on earth would anyone buy a car that colour ! Love the extreme positive or negative reactions this car receives . ( generally positive !)

You can fit 11" on the rear with proper spacers/fitment and ( I assume) some work on the arches. I have seen a few cars running those size wheels. I also heard of at least one car running turbo 11" wheels with the stock 305 tyre back there but haven't seen it myself.
That being said, you will understeer like you have never seen before unless you work on getting loads more rubber up front. Ive no idea what owners have done to get round this. Perhaps its not an issue on the Coffee run.
TBH, armed with only 2 x 11" wheels and a Cayman I would use my time trying to get the 11" to fit upfront (kidding). I have seen Caymans at the track with 255 front tires though. No idea what was required (if anything) to get those on there.

Thanks for the response. I don't want to change handling dynamics, particularly the front end which has great turn in as is. The interest was more in securing a set of track rims that were for sale at a reasonable price. I'll wait out for a better set, or may just fit better tyres to the OEM rims when the Michelin Pilot Sports are close to end of life.

Took mine to Bedford on Saturday - fell in love with it (again). Handling was sublime, pace good enough - nothing came past me all day unless I was on a cool down lap. I was very impressed. Just need to sort out that floppy gearbox and then I'll be a happy bunny. Might have to get that Capristo on too. Drove a 991 GTS today and the noise it made was fantastic!

Had mine for just over 2 months now and have done around 1500 miles in it. As I've started to push the car a bit more I've noticed the issue with the brakes that others have mentioned, there's not a lot of feel in the pedal and they feel a bit vague when you stand on them.

The only other issue is the standard gearshift throw is way too long, and the lack of cupholders smile

Adding cupholders and short shift are easy but are there any easy fixes for the brakes?

Brakes have been discussed on the previous thread actually, MC replacement etc until the thread got ruined - others will pip up i'm sure who've done the mods as I haven't got any experience on that.

What I do have is the delights of having to change my clutch switch (earthworm Jim style), my car wouldn't start this morning!!!

6 pots off a 996 GT3 with new hubs and 350mm disks. (gyro, brembo do 2 piece 350mm disks or cayenne disks fit and are cheap but bigger)
or 340mm upsize gyro disks with RS29 pads and caliper spacer bolts.
or just RS 29 pads.

GT3 MC is a choice on the owner , it does NOT improve brake performance, just makes the pedal throw shorter, 1 or 2 people here like a pedal with no movement ! I like more movement as it's a lot easier to threshold brake and heal and toe imo.
