Catchpole prefers the good old CR over the new 981 Spyder for driving, thought that's interesting.

Saw him shooting for that video when we were over there last month, certainly stands out that car!

Started wading through this 50page thread. (im 30pages in!) Shame the mods cant cut all the bickering out of it! Apologies to Sarnie and Dan, didn't see the pages where you were trying to draw my attention to a red R a while back.
I bought the R from Alexanders Prestige. Got a bit of a deal on it and a full service but nothing much else as they didn't seem to want to budge much despite it not having as full a spec as a couple of the white R's around on offer at the moment (and I am crap at haggling!) Only two big ticket specs it didn't have was the full PCM nor PSE. The latter concerned me a little but when I heard the car being fired up and then driven with a bit of spirit, it sounded great to me and I am used to race headers and big exhausts. Maybe mine has an aftermarket system? did ask the seller but he had no record of it if so.

Car feels superb to me, goes like a rocket and appears pretty immaculate inside and out. Got the Williams F1 paint and interior protection scheme on it and scratch/chip protection cover for peace of mind.

Where's the best site for R owners? Planet9? Rennlist? Considering how special the car is and how few about I thought there might be a good UK owners club/group :-/

ps...whats a de-snork?

no owners groups.

desnork is removing the flap where the air comes into the engine and fitting mesh in place of it.
VFlow is prob the best system to put behind it.

Ive got desnork and v-flow on mine, as well as a full M&M Race system. Gave me an extra 55 BHP, increased rev limiter to 7780 - and 50 more NM torque between 2500-4000.
from 2000 rpm Ive got 350 NM or more through to 7000+ smile

Thanks PGT4 and Sauriel. Will look into them.

Nice figures Sauriel! I take it you had to have a remap after fitting that kit too? Performance wise that must put you amongst the big boys smile

Thought you may be interested in my R.
Aqua, manual with full Capristo and DMS re-map, BMC filter, race brake fluid. 16k. It's a nice drive with more torque and a rather nice sound.

Not that it matters much but I thought it would run lean with those mods?

I just went to view the White Cayman R at OPC Cambridge.

Seems the right spec - manual, buckets, chrono, AC and PCM. 14k Miles and £44k

It was previously owned by a chap in Ashford. Anyone here?

I must admit I found the buckets a pain to get in and out of!!
