There's a couple of manuals hanging about as well. Over price them or do more than 25k in it and you are buggered no matter what gearbox you have.

PDK is awesome. If we are all driving gods extracting maximum laptimes from our supercars why would you want a gearbox that looses you half a second a lap?
these are not super cars ! Or race cars ! PDK on normal cars is dull

Has anyone been to see this one, it's been for sale for ages and has now been dropped to £40k on the website, any thoughts anyone?

Oh and hi Nick

Hello chief!

Thats a nice looking car, personally I quite like the blue. Have a drive of the PDK car and see what you think.

Shout if you want a hand with anything mate.

Also not having a Porsche warranty is probably whats hindering the couple of manual cars.

I will be putting mine up for sale when I get back off my hols frown

How easy is it to remove the plastic trims from the intake vents for the engine?

Also, I'm keen to see what my car would look like with black plastic vents over the standard silver contrast colour vents. Where would be the best place to pick some up for a trial fit to see how it looks.

Cheers
Anyone smile

well ive stuck 700miles on my PDK R in the first two weeks of ownership and got to say im bloody loving it smile and I am from the die-hard old school manualist brigade! Would I prefer it to be a manual, yes, but I am in no way disappointed with the PDK and its in the colour and spec I wanted, which never seemed to be available as a manual. When im 'on it' its plenty enough 'involving' and the car goes like stink.

ps whats all the cobblers about the car having to have less than 25k miles on it? eh?! they are 4yrs old and are far better being driven than closeted in a garage.

25k miles is nothing on a R, just run in ! 997 GTS all seem have 40k plus and some are still £60k

a 4.5 year old Cayman R is only 5k miles a year as 25k

Doing the miles is fine just don't expect 40k for it come resale. That's just the market though. 20ish k they sell 30ish not so well unless they are priced accordingly.

I was a manualist myself at one time but I maintain on a relatively normal car like a Cayman manual gearboxes are just un necessary jiggling about of your left leg. If anything changing gear manually actuality takes your focus away from how the car is steering/handling in addition to slowing you down.

PDK might be cheaper to buy now by a grand or something but they won't depreciate any quicker it's spec mileage and spec and mileage that's all that matters. Any color as long as it's white.

Has anyone had the PSE retro-fitted to their R? Im thinking of having it added as it was the one option I would have liked (shouldn't even be an 'option' on an R IMO, should be standard fitting but that's Porsche for you). Would just like the car to have a little more sports car sound without getting too noisy on long runs. Its a bit too quiet for my personal taste, other than the great induction sounds.

Solihull quoted just circa £2,100 to retro fit it.....

OPC it seems cannot sell you the larger R exhaust !!! they only sell the S 48MM exhaust not the 55MM R one.

Carnewal can though, very odd.

Old Bob on here has one in his garage. Young Bob replaced his standard system with something a little louder. Might be worth dropping him a PM.
