Hi Guys,

Economics Graduate (2010), but has ended up as a Jr project manager/site management for a local building firm since I graduated. Now I have always loved property since a young age and have decided that I want to use all the knowledge and info I have gained to my advantage and am currently investing in a property (BTL) and then want to purchase more as my pension for years to come.

Now, I am coming to the final 8weeks of my project and need to make a decision, as I need to change company after the project, as they are just too unstructured and have major communication difficulties and are not very supportive and refused to pay for any qualifications/certifications I'd want to do.

The way I am looking into it is that I have three options:

- Find another assistant site manager job for a construction company
- Apply for project management jobs out of construction (maybe financial based/ close to degree?)
- See if I am able to get any contracting jobs as a Project Management Officer (A friend says they pay very well, and would help me get another property quicker)
- I've always liked the idea of FX/commodity Trading - have done a little bit here and there, but am thinking once I finish I could try it and see how I do? If im not making any money after 8weeks then I know its not for me (I have a friend who is doing quite well in this, and is willing to let me join him for a few weeks to trade together).

The ultimate aim is to become my own boss and be able to build and grow my own business, whilst being able to slowly invest over the years to allow for a comfortable retirement in the Sun hopefully.

I'd be very interested to hear people's thoughts on this. I'm graduating with a law degree and looking at getting into project management. Or construction more broadly.

You're in a decent position with a Law degree. I'm struggling to get into the construction industry with a Marketing degree.

I don't have much retail experience, but am looking into some of the retail project management jobs.

Not too sure how profitable it is to go into the rail industry? As NetworkRail HQ are now down the road, and they have some project management roles...
never considered it before
