is the A320 not normally a safe aircraft to Fly? have flown many times with Germanwings there our company's preferred choice

I hope they achieved some kind of emergency landing, but knowing the area and seeing the above-posted link to FR24 showing a vertical speed of -3500 ft/min I fear the worst...

From that FR24 track it Just seems to have descended all the way down in a straight course until it hit the higher ground

ALL aircraft are safe.
Accidents / tech failures still happen though.
