YOLO as the kids say, get it eaten!
I have to object to YOLO as a concept as you live every day but only die once. So YODO. It's only a 3 year old tinned sponge, Get it down you

OP will be absolutely fine. These products receive(d) a thermal process and are Aw controlled so no spoilage here. There may be some tin uptake and organoleptical deterioration but nothing to worry about.........

Open it and see if it looks edible?

Then heat it up and have a nibble, if it tastes normal scoff the rest!

(Look at www.youtube.com/ashens for a guy who occasionally eats things that are much, much older!)

Because you can't get them where I live.

I didn't eat it before because we had no custard. You can't get that either.

Three years later, a visitor brought us some custard.
You can't get milk, cream, eggs and vanilla?

What is this witchery? Can't get cartons of Ambrosia or tins of Bird's powder.

That will be a best before date not a throw away date. Tinned stuff will remain safe to consume for years after that providing the can is not damaged.

Custard is easy to make from scratch, mix some corn flour (1 tablespoon per person) with a little milk and blend into a smooth paste add sugar to taste, add vanilla essence (1 drop per person) or the contents of a vanilla pod for 4-6 portions. Add more milk (1 pint for 4-6 portions) add a little single cream if feeling indulgent and bring to just below boiling and starts to bubble and lower heat stirring constantly until thick. Easy.

To make choc-custard use a 1 part coco powder to 3 parts corn flour .

You could eat that pudding in 10 years time and it would be just fine.

I've got this one. What do you think? It's in a plastic tub with plastic film. The film seems to be airtight even though it looks perforated.

That is another "best before" date not a "use by" date used on perishable food like milk and meat.

That's a "breathable" film. It will still be relatively safe to eat depending on storage, but taste wise it will have deteriorated considerably.

I doubt there's much tin on tins these days, more likely plastic.
