Wondering what th cheapest Supercar is. I guess that will mean different things to people as people tend to have different views of what a Supercar is. E.G. My neighbour thinks my 996 C2 daily beater is a Supercar!

So, what do you consider to be the cheapest Supercar?

Lotus Esprit. The shape, the presence and perhaps even the hideous running costs all give it an aura that a 911 never quite had hehe Failing that, £30k will still just about get you a Ferrari 456.

Very loose term of Supercar (more of a GT) but Maserati 3200 is cheap (to buy).

Always surprises me you can pick one up for under 5 figures.

I'd like to be able to drive it without having to have a low loader following me to pick it up wink

Does a Ferrari 328/348 count as a supercar supercar?

I am quite happy with my 5.0 Chimaera. Fast, convertible, sexy, and the noise, oh my word......

But the real question is how do you define a supercar? Somewhat differently to a super car....

If the question was asking for suggestions as to the ultimate supercar, that'd probably win it, closely followed by a remapped 335d.

Maserati 3200, Ferrari v8 with twin turbos in an Italian styled body. All for less than ten thousand if you shop about.

Any supercar that is going up in value above inflation will be the cheapest to own.

If I had £10k to spend on a Maserati, it would be something like this:

£9400

I was going to say XJ220, but prices seem to have gone up on those a lot in the past 5 years.

A TVR Cerbera 4.5 had near enough supercar performance in its day so it offered plenty of performance per pound...they are a bit of a money pit though so again they possibly deserve the almost supercar moniker.

Vlad always thought the M135i was a junior supercar so I would tend to agree, he also had a 335d so really the thread should end here!

It must do - 328 has to be one of the most beautiful cars ever made, is supercar quick for it's time and sounds glorious. Though this could be connected to the age of the driver...

Aren't rough Murcialagos around £70-80k? I can't think of anything that comes close to being a supercar for less.

I suppose it comes down to what everyone thinks a supercar is.

911 can be had for £10k these days as can some very fast Skyline and Impreza models.

Maser 4200 can be had for slightly more.
