So Top Gear will continue in a different format (different presenters?)

If we park for the moment the reasons for this etc,etc there is no doubt the current team have been firmly loyal to Aston Martin.
I personally think this video from the Top Gear team is absolute class

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q0Svvdrx_E

I have also laughed at some of the teams antics over the many years watching Top Gear

My vote for a new presenter goes to Chris Harris

Maybe I'm a bit weird but that video makes me feel quite emotional. I remember the episode, and it is just the best car ever for so many reasons summed up perfectly. I hope one day to upgrade from the V8 and this video describes perfectly why. Not sure why I'll pay my license fee now as I don't watch dancing/karaoke/soap nonsense that seems to pass for entertainment now.

I agree, the v12 one was good.

Remember this one when the vantage was launched?

http://youtu.be/IB1kI-SnokE

I played it to my neighbour before the car arrived, especially the bit about how far away the car could be heard! She wasn't impressed smile

My favourite top gear clip ever.....wish they'd done more like that.

Whilst in its current format it was getting a bit jaded , it was still 'our' programme and it will be missed.

My vote for new presenter goes to me

I'm a tall middle aged opinionated Yorkshireman called Jeremy. I mean they won't even have to change the name on the chair for chrissakes !! hehe

I'm sure the stig did some kind of timed test on that episode of the 3 cars too which isn't in that clip. Your neighbours would really hate my exhaust then...

And who could forget the Train Vs DB9 episode to the south of France? From memory the first ambitious trip they done and still one of the best. That was ten years ago and was the episode that inspired me to own an Aston by forty.

He had to go, simple as that. Clarkson will be missed on the show, if it survives. I lived on the Isle of Man when he went though the ordeal with the ramblers. Felt sorry for him and his family. Perhaps the show was getting a little tired? Hope the poor producer bounces back. That V12V video was iconic and a big influence on me wanting one. I reckon the three of them will appear somewhere else doing something very similar......hopefully with less restraints 😄

Agree completely. The arsing around is fun now and again but not all the time like it was becoming. The V12V film was outstanding and definitely swayed my future purchase.

If they bring it back I'd love to see Chris Evans do it, but I'd drop the guest in the reasonably priced car. 10 minutes of blowing smoke up mostly B list celebs with a new book/movie coming out. Who cares, give us more track/review action.

Plus the episode covering the DB7 GT,..."0 - 135 MPH in one gear" + spit on the camera lens.

We all know that the Three Amigos will be appearing in a C4 / C5 show very soon called something very similar.

Whilst I appreciate that the BBC needed to do something (you can't go round chinning people can you), i'm sure that they know full well that they will loose May & Hammond also.

What's the saying..........killed the goose that laid the golden egg !

On a side note, how soon is it before I can refuse to buy a TV licence without getting banged up ? I don't see why I should pay for the BBC to produce a multitude of ste amateur song and dance shows and other such drivle.

Guy Martin and Chris Evans and Steve Coogan would make for a good three for the show and blow anything that the Clarkson Chronies might throw out.

Plus a slight drawback for me would be his love of Ferrari. That's obviously not an issue in the slightest, however I do wonder whether he would rave about a Morris Marina if it had a Ferrari badge on it.

On the flip side, he does / has owned a few Astons too.....

I guess what i'm saying is i'm unsure how balanced his view would be.
