Conti GT grill cleaning, how do you do yours ?

Hi, any ideas and or suggestions on the best/easiest (probably not the same) way to really clean the front grill guys n girls. I sat and tried for a couple of hours yesterday with a flat stick wrapped in a cloth and some polish ..... any better thoughts. Thanks, I really don't like to think of the dirt in all the corners gradually eating into the finish.

I know what you mean. I too am a perfectionist when it comes to cleaning my cars.
A Toothbrush in a cloth might be a better solution as it is flexible and believe it or not, I just this second though about using one of those. In the past I used Cotton Buds and yes, it took ages.
Solvo Autosol, (Halfords), is my preferred metal cleaner by the way.

Thanks Corbeliere, that inadvertently made me laugh, I tried exactly that yesterday and got a face full of solvol when I tried to get into the corners with the brush without the rag...

So, taking my own advice, I went and bought two soft child's toothbrushes yesterday. Child ones as they are smaller.
Let's see how that works out.

I own an Arnage, which I believe has a very similar grill to the G.T. even if not identical, and I have successfully managed to achieve a good finish when cleaning this area by simply using a large handheld brush that has soft bristles combined with warm water and autoglym shampoo. After rinsing the soapy water off with the hose I have then resorted to drying the grill by using a microfibre drying cloth rapped round my index finger which allows me to wipe dry each of the openings. Whilst this is a laborious process the grill does look very impressive once the job is complete.

The soft brush approach sounds good ... I'll give that a try.

When I did mine last week I must have knocked my knuckles countless times trying to dry it!

Yesterday I used my new kids toothbrush but instead of Autosol I used shampoo. The result was just what I wanted.
It is a long job though.

I use a baby's bottle brush on my continentalGT grille. Fiddly but works fine, better still with a cold beer to hand. It helps pass the time

No-one has mentioned the fact that it's a darned sight easier doing this with the bonnet halfway up, then you have access to both sides. Being a bit of a perfectionist I put a blanket over the engine so nothing drips onto the cowling, then you can pass a cleaning cloth all the way through the grill holes (I use one of those wheel wands as well) before polishing.
