My 1999 Chimaera 500 runs on Estoril wheels and I have just had to order some replacement wheel centre discs from RaceTech (originals cracked after hitting too many potholes over the years). The new discs are fibreglass and come unpainted. My local bodyshop said he needs the paint code for the original silver colour in which these wheels are painted.

I'd say even if the paint code is bang on, they'll still stand out like a spot in the end of a cock, if you can budget for it get him to flash over the wheels as well. It'll make the car really pop, fresh painted wheels done well look really good.

Thanks for the thought but the wheels are immaculate and my aspiration is to keep this car in original condition inasmuch as possible so don't want to repaint anything (it has done 50k miles and I bought it new so it has plenty of stone chips at the front but is otherwise immaculate but not a show car).

No matter what you want, they'll look off colour. 15-20 year old paint vs new. Silvers a hard colour to match at the best of times, I'd urge you to consider what I've said as you will be disappointed otherwise.
I'm all for keeping these cars original as possible, but paint is often inevitable with any car, be it a classic or something that's brand new and has been bumped on the transporter. You won't be changing anything, just giving it a little love.

Thanks again - an interesting and valid viewpoint! I may have to resort to it if I can't get the paint code.

I don't know the paint code but I do know it's a period Volvo colour.

^+1. Exactly what I was thinking as I read this thread. Any good paint Johnny worth his salt should be able to match your wheels, even if the paint is old.
