I have lots of dust inside headlamp pods, is there a way of getting inside without removing outer cover? Maybe unclipping headlight unit?
Cheers

Yes, un-click the lamps from their wire 'brackets'
Best to remove the electrics and the bulbs, to have some leverage........
Needless to say you need a light touch and be very careful
On installing catch the lower and outer (from either, respective side of the car) wire bracket first and then by gently pulling engage the third one (the one you can then see)A plaster knife can help for the last few mm
Make sure the lamp is the right way up (and you probably need are-alignment of the lights)

Can I tag a question onto this?
One of my Perspex covers needs resealing as its sunk into the body slightly.
Does the Perspex come out and up and do I need to get the covers off inside the wheel arch to push the cover up to reseal it or can it all be done without rear access?

That is correct, real pig of a job. There is a thread with pictures on here somewhere showing the process.

Hi.Just completed a full headlamp rebuild on my Griff.Issues i had was crud in the pod,one retaining spring clip off and seized adjusters. If you flick off the three spring clips through the access panel in the wheel arch the headlamp will fall into the pod and will be a pig of a job to relocate the lamp into the trim ring.Steps i took were gentley cut and remove all silicon.clean off all excess with tar remover.remove access panel in wheel arch and remove headlamp retaining bracket[2x10mm nuts].Pod will now be loose.rotate outwards and lift up at front and remove as complete assembly. Now you can remove the perspex faring from the painted part[4xcountersunk screws].Next steps depends on what you want to acheive.I removed lamps from trim rings and replaced all adjusters with stainless ones from racing green which don't seize and give you more lateral and vertical adjustment.Refitting the pod is opposite to removal but will need support from under the pod while the new silicon is setting.Hope all this info helps.Any probs please email.Regards.Dave.

Andy a little tip re making a neat job of the sealing: Carefully mask around the bodywork and the fear pod first, leaving the thin area exposed where you are going to seal. Carefully apply the sealant evenly and consistently with a mastic gun (not too big a nozzle opening), golden rule here NOT TOO MUCH SEALANT as getting it off neatly is a nightmare, once you have the neat bead all around let is go off very slightly then carefully remove the masking allowing the edge to settle down - voila you should have a neat bead! Regards, Pete

I will add to that use frog tape it's better than masking tape :-)
