Hi,

The chimaera always seems to drop a little engine oil on the garage floor, maybe a drop every other day,

Worth worrying about?

Thanks

Had a small drip from mine when I had it, helped keep the chassis in such good nick.

Hi
I have changed my sump gasket twice including using wellseal and it still leaks.

Apparently the 2 rear bolts are open to the oil gallery and therefor you get capillary action and the leak. I have just ordered a spreader plate from Rimmerbros for these 2 rear bolts, I plan to use sealer and a dowty washer on each bolt to see if it stops leaking.

Good luck with yours.

I ordered

2 x 33. Longer sump bolt to account for the plate
1 x 38 the plate

Plus ordered separately to fit the bolts
2 x Dowty washers
Bolt sealer

3 of us in then same club are fed up with the drips on our drive and have ordered the same items, we will fit over the coming months.

Not sure it will fix it but we wanted to have a different approach as clearly it's not a gasket problem, more capillary action via the threads.

My sump was re-sealed twice before it was cured. New cruciform seals were the answer.

I have changed them and the rear crank seal, plus gasket and then another gasket. Which is why I want a different approach, hence sealing threads, plate and Dowty washers an rear 2 sump bolts
